VICE CHAIRMAN'S REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDING 31- AUGUST 2025
The year began as usual with onty mirnr rtems of repair and maintenance ansing.
Tn￿ts￿9 - In January 2025 the h)ng-stw¥ling Chairman. Allan Evans, res¢gned as tKilh a Trustee
8nd Chairman due lo an impending house move to Hampshire and continuing illthealth.
11 was wth great sadness that the Trustees leomed thot he passed away on l July.
In June 2025, anotherfounder Trustee, Ma￿'n Tremayne, tendered his ￿$￿nation as a Trustee
bul happily ft)r th8 Trust, conlnues to act in a volunteer capaity.
A new Tnjslee, Rob Ashbum, was voted ￿ t*)ard rb Juty, trAriging a depth ofexp￿en¢e n
engineering that ￿ partKularfy usefvl li res￿ of the SrThihy.
An a(hJitKJnai Trustse is sought, ideally a ￿th corrpany adrr￿nIstrattve skills.

Traditional blacksmiths are hard to find and the Trust may have an empty Smrthy for a whilts...and
also contemplate an ahemab.ve to a blacksmith, such as a metsl worker.
The Woc*J Carver {Unrt 11 had been fo￿ed to lake other empk*yment lo supplement his income
thus reduc4ng the hours sFent al his wort(shop lo a level below Ihal agreed. After discJJssion wth
the Trustees, he deaded lo relinquish his ten￿cY and also left at the end of August.
Fortunatety a new Tenant for Unrt 1 alreaty been knjnd and vrtll take over from 1st October.
Fund Raising- the Ir8dbtional annual event. Penwame Garden Open Day, was b￿ssed by finè
weathor and resultgd in record net takings of £1,261.73. As a￿RYS, our thanks go to our
PrEsidenl, Mts Ruth Sawyer, oWr￿r of Penwame MarKJrfcf enablng the event lo haFpen.
Works- compared lo the pre¥￿u$ finanoal yeaf, there was lrttle eypendiiure on maintenance I
repairs. £1,586.62 was the totsl, of £729 ￿as for the r8furb￿hrn8nt of the Coutyard floor.
(Its fi￿tpffjperGleanIng srn(x rf was completed in 2￿1). Fortunatety. the Trust received a grant
of £250 towards the c#)st from the Pansh COW￿1.
Flnances- our dosing bank balan￿ of £10.(￿7.74 i8 SO￿ £2.IXQ greater than the previous
year, reflecting good management.
