Both regislralions are in England and Wales. The organisalions, registered addrgss is. 137 Deepcul Bridge Road. Deepcul, Camberley, surrey, GU16 6SD. Because ol its. dual status as a company and a charity, the same people serve as its company Directors and charity Trustees. A list ol those serving is given on page l. In this docurnenl, the term 'Truslee is Used. but this should also be taken lo imply the role ol Director Trustees, meetings are held face lo lace or online al least four limes per annum. The day-lo-day administration ol the chanty is delegated lo the 'Company Secretary.. The day to day "spiritual. leadership and guidance ol the charty is delegated lo "the Ministry leader and the women's ministry leader" Thames valley Churches ol Christ continues to have wam and independent links with a pov8ty-relief chanty cald HOPE worldwide and continues lo encourage its members lo support their work. Publlc beneflt The Ifustees have complied with the duty sel out in section 17 01 ihe Charties Ael 2011 to have due regard lo public benefit guidance by the commission. All Iruslees give their lime voluntarily and receive no benefit from the charity. Any expenses reclaimed trom the charity by the trus18es are Sel out in note 6 to the accounts. Objectives and Actlvllies The objects ol Thames Valley Churches ol Chnst are defined in rts Articles of Association as follows: "Ih8 advancement of the Christian religion and the reliel ol poverty in the United Kingdom and elsewhere throughout the world" The main ways in which Thames Valley Churches ol Christ accomplishes its obj'ects are through: adult Ministry Ilhis includes prayer, leaching. praaehing. spirilLtal counselling and evangelism) youth and children's ministry assistance to the ne&Jy and the sick Prayer, teaching. counselling and evangelism Thames Valley Churches ol Christ aim to facililale the worship of God and lo promote the everyday application ol Chris's teachings. The charity continues lo locus on small groups in the counties ol Surrey. Hanls. Berkshire. Oorsel and Buckinghamshire. All the gfOUPS meet Ir8quently lo pray and Worship togelher and to receive biblical teaching. The chanty employed a fulltime pastoral worker and a women's leader. 11 also continued lo use the services ol a teaching and worship leader on a consultancy Isell-employedl contract. With the help and support ol members ol Ihg congregations the Sunday worship services, and mid-week meetings are open lo rnembers ol the wider community and visrtors are wel¢ome. All these activrties aim to losler and promote the everyday appIallOn ot Christ's teachings. P8.4
Thames Valley Churches of Christ Tru8tees' report for the year ended 31 December 2021 Youth and Children's ministry As in previous years the charity has pul resources into building an effective youth ministry for families within the congregations and their surrounding neighbourhoods. All youth and children's activities are organised with the safety and security ol the children al ils heart. The charity has subscribed lo the serviees ol the Churches Child Protection Advisory Serwice (now Thityone=eighll who provide an invaluable service in supporting this work. Weekly classgs this year were focused on creating an encouraging environment in which children can build an understanding of God and grow in their confidence and sell-esleern and develop an appreciation of the relevance and usefulness ol Christ in their everyday lives. The children are enwuraged to invite their friends and lamity along to Ihese events. Asslsllng the Needy and the Sick As in previous years the charty aims to meet the local needs among its members and in the local community- The Charity strives to imilale Jesus concem lor those in need by supporting and partnering with HOPE Worldwide la UK registered charity). This year the charity continued to support the work ol HOPE Worldwide in the UK, HOPE Worldwide in India (support for the "Village ol Hope"), HOPE Worldwide in Croatia I0hanage Prograrnmel and HOPE Worldwide in Nepal Isuw)ort for the school and community projects). As in previous and despite the Covid-19, members of the congregalions are encouraged to volunteer their time and lo contribute resources lo svpport Ihe work of HOPE Worfdwide. Aeh5evements in the year Like all other ofganisations. 2021 was a remarkable and challenging year due lo covid-19 and Ihe various Govemmenl responses to curb tfs spread. The small groups d8veloped capabilities lo meet weekly online and the small groups conlinue lo thrive and grow in membership. The youth ministry continued to engage and ir¢spire young people from within the church and the local community by using online resources. Leaders continue lo rise up in the small groups and locations and a wealth ol lalenl that is needed for the church to continue lo thrive is very encouraging. Financial review In overseeing the finances and administration ol the charity, the TNslees wish lo ensure that it compli8S with all relevant legislation and regulations. However. they also seek lo apply a high slandaid of sell- regulalion, as they seek to imitate the stsndard sel in the Bible by the Apostle Paul.. "We want to avoid any criticism of the way we administer this liberal gift. For we are taking pains to do whaf is right. not onty in the eyes of the Lord bul also in the eyes of men." 2 Cor 8.'20-21, Most donations are received Irom congregational members by standing orders.. The Trustees do not believe the ¢hanty is invofved in risky activity- All n¢e8ssary employers and public liability insurance policies are held and under constant review. Thames Valley Churches of Christ Trustees, report for the year ended 31 December 21Y21 Future Plans The Injslees continue lo focus on growing the church with particular emphasis on the following- èncourage and support continued growth in our current congregations continue to seek new outreach and church plantings within the Thames Valley region continued support for the needy and the sick. Reeruil younger people into laadership ol tha Church. Principle risks The Trustees periodically review and update the organisation's risk register. Three headline risks concern safeguarding, and maintaining the goodwill ol church mernbers. These risks and a summary of our mrtigalion pLgns are described as follows-. Safeguarding the well-being ot children land vulnerable adults) in church care: the Trustees want lo have land be seen lo havel the highest standards in chihj protection. We are informed by advice trom Thityone-.eighl Ifomierly Churches Child Protection Advisory Service). All staff are required lo attend suitable training (both on appointment and periodically Ihereafterl. and we are expanding the Disclosure and Barring Service {DBS) checks to include all members regulaty involved in such activities. TnJst and goodwill of church mernbers-. the financial and operational eontinuty of the charity is intrinsically lied to the continued trusl and goodwill ol the church members towards the eharily, ils leadership and its eltecliveness in carrying out its purFX)se. We seek to protect and strengthen that goodwill through upholding the expectation ol wholehearted participation in the life ol the church by all ils members, healthy engagement with church leadership, and forums such as the Annual Church Meeting where questions about the church's finances and impact can be raised and addressed. Future leaders.. the Iruslees recognise Ihe need lo address the demographic gap within Ihe church. The Iruslees are working with the curTent leaders to develop a young professionals ministry lo act as a recruilmenl vehicle lor future leaders. Concluslons This report has demonstrated that Thames Valley Churches ol Christ is accomplishing ils objectives to spread the message and teachings ol Jesus Christ. and lo help those aflecled by poveity and sickness. In so doing, il is bringing benelils to wider sooiety and community through ils activities. The organisalion is in a sound financial position and is well placed to build on ils work in 2022. In doing so the Trustees are required to: Select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently- Make sound judgements and eslimales that are reasonable and prudent; and Prepare the financial slalemenls on the going concem basis unless rt is inappropriale to presume that the charity will continue in business. Thames Valley Churches of Christ Noles to the Financi81 Statements lor the year ended 31 December 2021 Accountlng policles The principal accounting policies adopled by the Trustees in the preparation ol the financial statements are sel out below. The accounting policies have been applied consislenlly throughout the year and in the precading year. a) Basis of Accounting The financial statements are prepared in accordance with Accounting arHI Reporting by Charities= Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK arsd Republic ol Ireland IFRS 102}, the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 and the Chanties Act 2011. They are drawn up on the historical accounting basis. The charity meets the definition ol a public benefit entity under FRS 102. The financial statements have been prepared on a going coeM basis. b) Incorne All income is r8eognised in the Staternonl ol Finan¢ial Activities when the cofidttions lor receipt have been mel and there is reasonable assurance of receipt and the amount can be quantiligd with reasonable accuracy. Where a claim lor repayment ol income lax has or will be made, such income is grossed up lor the tax recoverable. The lollowing specrfic policies are applied to categories of in¢ome= Donatlon8 Voluntary income is received by way ol donations and is included in full in the Sialemenl ol Financial Activities when receivable. Donations lo which the charity is enlilled bul which have not been received by the year end are included in income in the Statement ol Financial Activities and shown as debtors in the balance sheet. Tax rnclaimed on monies donoted under the Glft Aidscheme Income under this category is recognised in the financial statements on the dale that the underlying donation is received by the charity, where Ihe lax reclaim is made within thiee months ol ihe end ol the financial year. HOPE worldwlde UK Collections are often taken up on the Sunday services ol the chaTTty on beham of HOPE worldwide UK lo support the work of HOPE wortdwide UK and other HOPE wOrldwe affiliates around the world. Expenditure include any VAT whtch cannol be lully recovered and is reported as part of the expenditure lo which rt relates. Expenditure on Charitable activilies comprise those costs incurred by the charity in Ihe delNery ol its activities and setvices lor its beneficiaries. It includes both costs that can be allocated directly lo such activities and those costs ol an indirect nature necessary lo support them. All costs are allocated between expenditure categories of the Slalement ol Financial Activities on a basis consislenl with the use ol resources. Costs relating lo a aclivty are allocated directly. others are apportioned on an appropriate basis. d) Volunteers The value of seryices provided by volunteers is not incorpoialed into these financial stalemenls. Further details of the contribution made by volunteers can be found in the Trustees. roport. •) Fund accounting The charity maintains various types ol funds as follows.. Unrestrlcted fund This represents unraslricted income which is expendable at the discretion of the Trustees in furtherance of the objectives ol the charity. Such funds may be held lo finance both woiking capital and caprtal inveslfflenl. The charity at present has no designated funds. Restricted fund- HOPE Worldwide Pro118 This represents donations which are given by the don0 for work with Hope Nepal and India Projects and are reslricled lo this use. Restricted fund- 8•nevolence This repTesenls donations which are given by the donors for bgnovolence work wrthin the church and local communities and are restricted lo this use. g) Tan9lble Fixed Assets The charity acquired no large a$5ets during the yoar. Fixed assets that cost less than £1,000 are written off in the year in the slalement ol financial activities. h) Pension costs The charity operates a defined contribution scheme through a regislered company ol investment specialists. Contributions are made on behall ol all qualifying employees who have elected to join the scheme. All required conlribulions during the period were accrued in accordance with the scheme's rules and charged lo the Statement of Financial Activities lor the year. P8. 12

The HOPE Worldwide Projects restricted fund represents funds donated by members of the congregation to support the charity’s HOPE Worldwide projects in UK, Nepal, India and Croatia.
The Benevolence Fund represent donations which are given by the donors for benevolence work within the church and local communities and are restricted to this use.
