Achievements and Perfomiance
The charity seeks to achieve thèse objectives by its close wotk with Copii pentru Cristos
("CpC Romania"), a Romanian regislered charity, by raising funds and other aid to support
the worf( of Cpc Romania. This is achieved through the delivery of regular newsletters to a
large number of supporters in England and Northem Ireland to keep them updated and
interested in the work. This. together with occasional presentation visits to churches by
Trustees, does prompt financial support and camp visitor interest. In the UK Children for
Christ ("CfC England.), together with its team of supporters in Northem Ireland, has
continued to work closely with its sister charity, Children for Christ in Scotland {"CfC
Scotland"). Cfc Scotland is a charity registered in Scotland with similar aims, namely to
support the work of Cpc Romania.
In thi8 financial year grants totalling £27,500 were sent to Cpc Romania. These grants were
for annual support to assist in the costs of holiday camps, bible study materials, leaders
training packs. A grant of £15,000 was sent in February 2024, £10,000 sent in August 2024
and a further £2,500 sent from donations from our Northern Ireland support group in October
2024. There were no restrictions on the grants provided in this financial year
In previous years a number of teams of volunteers from churches in the UK spent time at the
campsite in Varfurile, Romania run by Cpc Romania where they Carried out maintenance
work on the facilities on the site. Philip Mansfield, one of our Trustees, travelled to Romania
with a team from hls church and were in camp during the summer of 2024 and assisted in
various ways when on site.
Where requested the English charity will shar8 Its experience of the Romanian camp site
with visiting teams but the responsibility for the visit remains entirely with the leaders of the
visiting teams. Whilst not organising the t8ams the charity does seek to c￿Ordinate the visits
so as not to overload the Romanian campsite with too many volunteer8 at any one time.
Cfc Scotland collects, sorts and pack good quality second hand clothing and household
item8. Our team of supporters in Northem Ireland undertakes similar work. Each Spring,
togethér Wlth Cfc Scotland, a lorry is organisèd to collect the boxes of clothing together with
any other aid that has been donated. This is then transported to the 8lte in Romania. Cpc
Romania gives some to needy local families and also sells some locally to raise funds to
support the work, whi18t other aid is used directly in the running or development of the
campsite.
The cost of the transportation of these goods is shar8d equally between Cfc England and
Cfc Scotland and in this financial year the transportation Costs bome by Cfc Scotland was
£7,495. Hence, the 500h share due by Cfc England is £3,747.50 and that was paid in July
2024.
The planned deputation visit of the team from Romania in OcVNov 2024 was cancelled due
to illness of one of the Cpc Romania charity trustees. It is expeded that a deputation on
OcVNov 2025 will be arranged. A joint Zoom meeting with the attendance from the trustees
of Cpc Romania, CFC England, Nl support group and Cfc Scotland was convened in
October 2024.
Financlal Revlew
Fund raising is mainly ¢arried OLrt through visits to Ghurches, whith have personal links with
the trustees and other personal efforts of the trustees.
Page 13

During the year the trustees have continued to seek to raise funds by promoting the work
through regular newsletters to supporters and through a range of fund-raising initiatives as
well as encouraging supporters to make regular donations. A team of dedicated supporters
in Northem Ireland continue to play a vital role in assisting with the fund raising.
As a small charity the incorne is very dependent upon the efforts of the individual trustèes
and supporters to publicise the work of the charity. As a result, income is expected to
fluctuate significantly from one year to the next. With that in mind the funds raised during
2024 were acceptable.
The charity will maintain necessary funds for its legal future obligations and will, in addition,
endeavour to maintain sufficient funds to cover donations to the overseas work equivalent to
six months, donations of the agreed annual donations which are presently £7,000.
Plans for Future Periods
Together with Cfc Scotland and the team in Northem Ireland it is our intention to continue to
raise support for the on-going work in Romania and to support the leaders in Romania
practically, financially and through prayer.
The ongoing promotion of the work by visits to interested churches will continue together
with regular mailing to individual supporters. Other fundraising ideas are to be investigated
throughout thé coming year.
Initial invesligations to the potential amalgamation of the trusteeships across Scotland and
England and bringing in the team in Northern Ireland more fomially showed that the present
structure currently serves each charity satisfactorily in their geographical area. However,
should the amalgamation of the England and Scotland charities prove to be more beneficial
to the work in Romania then that would then be considered at that time.
