The trustees. who are the Leadership Team and director5 of the company for the purposes of company
law, present their report and financial statements together with the independent examinerfs report for the
period ended 31 December 2024.
STRUCTURE. GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
As a church we started meeung together regularly ¢)n ￿ndaY mornlngs from Easter 1999 buL a¢ that $ts8e.
we did not hive a statutory constitution.
The charity was established by memordndum and anicles of assocration under company number 4815977
on 30th June 2003 and VAS recognised as a tharity on 2nd Sepcunber 2003. The principal offlce Is Harvest
Flelds cent￿ Harvest Flelds Way, Sutton Coldfield. B75 STJ.
Each member of the Leaderthip Team held office throuzhouc the year and to the date of thls reporL
No member ol the Leadershlp Team has received any remuneratlon from the church. Detail$ of the related
party transaction and associared party transac¢lons are set out in notes 16 and 17.
The power of appointing new Leadership Team members is vested In the members ¢)n n¢)mlnatlon by the
existlng Leadershlp Team. As part ol the inductlon process for new members of the Leadershlp Team Ir
has been agreed that they should familiarlse themselve5 vAth the responsibiliry of chthty trus¢ee4 read the
Char6ty Commlsslon booklet ¢)n the subjectand carefully read the Memornndum and Arricles olAssoclatlon,
our policies and procedures and our latest fin￿¢1￿ sutements.
Declslons rerdrdlng the vlslon, overall dlrecflon and splrltual Ilfe of the thurth are taken by the Léadershlp
Team. The detailed dellvery of th￿e Is deleDted to the ¥proprnte staff member. volunteer or member
of the Leadership Team.

The Leadershlp Team has taken account of the Chartty Commission's genernl guIda￿e relating to publlc
benefit issues vthen reviwNing the church's objettives. ac¢lvltles and athievements (see below).
The churth takes seriousty its responslblllcy to nUrnI￿ protect arKI safward the welfare of children and
teenagers entrusced to it and accordingly. we have a Child Protection Policy wh05e implementation Is
formally reviewed by the Leadership Team.

We are a small church based within a local community. The majority of our member5 Ilve on the Harvest
Field5 devdopment and in the adlacent roads. Most of our meetings and events are held at the Harvest
Fields Centre which is sltuated rlght at the centre of the estate. The vision has aNYays been that we would
not be a'commuter church" but one where m05t attendees could wnlk to our meetlngs.
H¥vest Fields Communlty Church Is an ewangellcal charismatlc church rhat subscribes to rnaln5rream
Chrlstian bellefs. We believe that God ha5 called each individual member ¢0 be a positive and Godly
inftuence on thelr famille$, friends, work colleague5 and nelghbours by reflectln8 the life and love of Jesus In
every aspec¢ of thelr Ilves. Thls Involves sharlng our Ilves at a level much above the superf¢lal normal.
Our hope is that rhose Ilving at Harvest Fields and in the surroundlng road5 would Come ro know God and
HIS Ilfe changlng love. We therefore seek to love. seThe and meet the n¢¢ds of our communl¢y In a varlety
of ways, some of which are detalled below.
ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE
Thls year the church has contlnued Irs work Inw our lo¢al community in Ydrlous ways:
Our weekly parent and toddler group ("Harvest Tots") vns appreclated by the farnllles who
attended throughout the year. The new purchase5 for the group have been a grea¢ addltlon.
We rnn anoiher two blble 5rudy course$ C'Nourlsh") thi5 year. Both were well received and
en¢ouraged rnember5 In thelr personal falrh.
Our monthly chlldren'$ groups {"HF Kld$" and "HF Blg Kids,) provlded a fun after-s¢hool space for
¢hlldren from wirhin rhe ¢ornmunlry aged S- I l. Boch groups Increased In number5 Within the year.
We have contlnued to enjoy a good relatlonshlp wSth the local prlmary School - leadlng school
assemblles every half term and Yisltlng Individual classes when invited. We also welcomed rhe entlre
school over to che Centre at Christmas for • puppet nativlty service.
Over the summer. we parcnered wlth the Centre to offer ac¢lvltles for the famlly to enjoy during
the holldays. 'Traln Tots" The All Age Marlo Kart Cup" HF Bakes" and the "Puzzle Popin"
were all grntefully recelved by our communlry.
We held five quiz nlghts durlnz the year. Including one speclal fundralser for a local family. Each
evenlng was very well attended and enloyed by the communlty.
We have contlnued to support Harvesr Flelds Centre in rheir comrnunicy efforr5 - with children's
acclyities at their Chrlstmas fayre, the "Drakeford" concerr. and rhe ongoing "Elevense5" srotsp.
We delivered Chrisrmas cards and chocolares to every home across the estate durlng December
and our"Carols on Christmas Eve" event once again loved by our local Communlry.
Finally. we have contlnued to meet each Sunday morning for worship at the Harvest Flelds Centre.
Our 5ervice5 are modern, relevant and accessible for all ages and all walks of life. We ¢elebrd¢ed
one believer'5 baptism chis year and continued to share communion monthly. Our monthly prdyer
meeting ("Seek First") provided a great space for people to come and pray for the community and
the life and work of the church.

Public Benefit
The Leadership Team conslder that the church's achievements and perforniance contlnue to meet the public
benefit te5L The presence of the church has created an atmosphere of peace and security for all local
residents. The prdyers for the community have been of huge benefrt and the lack of Yandali5m bears
testimony to thaL Those members of the public who opt into specific church activities obviously benefit
more.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
The principal funding source for the church remalns from member5.
The inc¢Jrne for the year wa5 £96,779 {2023.' £90.604). The expenditure for the year was £74,681 {2023.'
£63.051). This left a surplus on the year of £21098 (2023: surplus of £27.553), which has been added fo
the surplus brought forward and balance carried foTh•wd. A full breakdown of these figures can be seen in
the Notes.
Investment Policy
The Leadership Team ha5 the power to invest in such ￿sets as it sees fit and places funds with Barclay5
Bank plc and Cambrldge & Counties Bank Limited.
Reserves
The church relies on regular continuing income to meet its monthly commitments. It would be hoped that
the undesignated reserves should always exceed three months undeslgnated expenses excludinggifts in kind
and tithe allocation. We are pleased to report that at the end of 2024 we have achleved this with our
undesignated reserves totalling £115,669 (see note 12).
Given that we have been building up funds that will be needed In the future (when we expett our expenses
to increase significantly). we kept our irbvesunent of £35,000 In a 95 day notice account and 50 this. plus
interest eamed (of £7,704). is a designated fund.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE LEADERSHIP TEAM
Company law requires the Leadership Team to prepare financial stacements for each financial year which
give a true and fair view of the stste of affairs of the chariry and of the surplus or defici¢ of the charfty for
the year. In preparing those financial statements, the Leadership Team are requlred to:.
Select suitable accountlng policies and then apply them consistentlyi
Make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent:
Comply with applicable accounting standards subject to any materbal deparwres disclosed and explained
in the financial statements., and
Prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless 1¢ is inappropria* to presume that
the thariw will continue operating.

The Leadership Tearn are responsible for malntaining proper accounting records which disclose. with

assets of the church and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevenrion and detection of fraud and

ACCOUNTING POLICIES
2.1 Fund Accountlng
Unresrricted fvnds are donadons and other income received or generated for the oblects of the
charity without speclfic purpose and are a*4allable as general fund5. In accordance with the policy
agreed by the members twenty percent of all general income 15 designated co be given (called
the nthe Fund). the fund balance is the amount designated not sriyen a￿aY by the year end. The
Investment Fund is rnoney eamiarked for investrnenL There are no restrtcted funds.
2.2 Income
Donations of equipmenr are recogni5ed at their e5txnated value at the time the donated a￿e¢S are
received. In accordance with the FRS 101 the Tnlue of the church's rent free entitlement w use
the Harvest Field5 Centre ha5 been estimated and is included as income receryed and as an
expense used (see note 5}. No value ha5 been recognised in these Financlal Statements of the
considerable wark underd(en by volunTrer5 - most of vthom are church members. Other
donation5 are included on a cash received basis.

During the year. the church made a loan to Haryest Fields Centre totaS1ing £20,000. This was
assist the Cen¢re with the purchase of "the Hut at Harve5c Fields"
This was an interest-free loan
and vns not repardble upon dffnand. It was expected to be repald as and vAien Harvest Fields
Centre had adequate funds. At the year-end the full amount vras Still outstandin& After the year
end and balance sheet daty the trustees and rnembers met and weed to convert this 2024 loan
into a donation in 2025. This decision will be rdected in the 2025 financial statements.

None of the Leadership Team has received any remunerntion from the church for servlces
rendered. Defails of reiated parry transartions and associated party transactlons are set out in

Although the Leadership Team are relmbursed for purchases they have made for the church at cosL
the thurch has not reimbursed any trdvellln8 or other expenses to any of the Leadershlp Team.

of the Intermediate lease of the Harvesr Field5 Centr¢ in 2024 recelved renr of £20.791 (2023:

The church uses the Harvest Relds Centre operdted by HFCL on a rent free basis {estlma¢ed value

FINANCIAL COMMITMENTS
At 31 December 2024 the church cornmitted to paylng no rent for its occupation of the Centre
but Is committed to paying serrice charge based upon the costs incurred for its entr¢lement to use
the Centre. This entitlemenr expires after more than a hundred years. For 2025 the sernice charge
Is estimaced to cos¢ the thurch £14.000.
