Friends of Flrcroft wfA Trustees, Annual Report for the Period Ended 31 August 2021 Objectives & Activities Friends of Fircroft PTA was established to help develop effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with Fircroft Primary School to help advance the education and well- being of pupils. Our main activities invofve fundraising activities to contribute funds to: Improved facilities and new equipment at the school; Class projects and activlties such as theatre trips" and Schools trips, in particular reducing the financial burden on families and carers. Achievements & Performance The trustees declare that they have complied with their duty to have due regard to the guidance on public benefrt published by the Charity ComMi￿10n In exercisin8 their powers or duties. Summary of the Maln Achievements for the Year Durin8 the financial year the Charity has: Funded new Interactive Whiteboards for another 6 classrooms. Provided funding for Year 6 PGL trip. Funded a variety of science workshops for the whole school as part of Science Week. Organised and funded Circus workshops for all year groups. Organised and delivered a variety of virtual events and competitions to replace in person events that could not take place, whilst this has continued to help fundraise it has also maintained a sense of community during lockdown restrictions. This included Window Wonderland; a trail of decorated windows and doorstep stalls- in place of a Winter Fair: Virtual Bingo, Zumba, a Balloon Race and a SK sponsored event. All virtual events since March 2020 have been free to participate in, with voluntary donations provided should familles wish to provide the same. Been able to proceed with an in-person Summer Fair. which was a great success. Received support from local businesses via donations and sponsorship. thls remains an important and invaluable source of income. Sponsorship was also obtained solely for the School Crossing Patrol. Received donations from parents whether as a voluntary donation relatingto an event or as a general donation. Gift Aid has been claimed where applicable and this has been a significant addition to income across the year. This has been included in event totals where possible. Financial Review Statement of the Charity's Policy on Reserves Since 2015 the Charity has been building up its cash balance to make a significant contribution to major capital developments at the kh¢)ol in 2017/18. which culminated in the £37,(M)O contribution to playground development in September 2018. A contribution of over £17.500 for a new library was made in April 2019. The Charity aims to retain a minimum balance of £2,500. In February 2020, Poge2of 8

Financial Revlew The Charity has made significant contributions to the school in line with the reserves statement above. It has also had another successful year with its fundraising activities particularly the two main events- Window Wonderland and the Summer Fair, which was in person. Other events were taken online to enable fundraising to continue safeEy. As a result we have been able to support a range of attivities Within the school including a funding contribution for PGL and workshops for all year groups. In addition, we have attracted sponsorship and donations from local retailers and businesses to help towards renewing playground equipment and providing more science activities. Annual Report for the Period Ended 31 August 2021 Strurture, Governance & Management The Charity is operated on a simple governan￿ structure that provides appropriate separation of duties and proportionate risk management. The Charity has a Chair who leads on the main activities. She is supported by two CtTrChairs and volunteers from the parents, carers. teachers and others associated with the school. She convenes a meeting every half term to discuss activities and priorities and make decisions on funding. The Charity has a Treasurer whose role is to manage the finances. in particular providing separation of duties to ensure that monies collected are accounted for and banked quickly and effectively.
