Annual Report and Financial Statements for the Period I September 2019 to 31 August 2020 Friends of Fircroft PTA-Annual Report 2019120 Friends of Fircroft wfA Trustees, Annual Report for the Period Ended 31 August 2020 Objectives & Activities Friends of Fircroft PTA was established to help develop effective relationships between the staff. parents and others associated with Fircroft Primary School to help advance the education and well- being of pupils. Our main activtties involve fundraising artivities to contribute fund5 to- Improved facilities and riew equipment at the school- Class projects and attivtties such as theatre trips; and Schools trips. in particular reducing the financial burden on families and carers. Achievements & Perfomance The trustees declare that they have complied with their duty to have due regard to the guidance on public benefrt published by the Charity Commission in exercisingtheir powers 01 duties. Summary of the Main Achievements for the Year During the financial year the Charity ha5= Funded new Interactive Whiteboards for 6 classrooms. Provided funding for school trips. Provided match funding for a Gardening Hub. Helped fund a new Phonics system. Organised and delivered a well attended Christmas Fair and Virtual Summer Fair. Attracted significant donations to help the school fund new technology for interactive learning. Financial Review Statement of the Charity's Policy on Reserves Since 2015 the Charity has been building up its cash balance to make a significant contribution to major capital developments atthe School in 2017118. which culminated in the £37.CKIO contribution to playground development in September 2018. A contribution of over £17,500 for a new library was made in April 2019. The Charity aims to retain a minimum balance of £2.500. In February 2020, £14,505 w35 provided to purchase Interactive Whiteboards for 6 classrooms. Financial Review The Charity has made significant contributions to the school in line WFth the reserve5 Statement above. It has also had another successful year with its fundraisin8 activities particularly the two main eventS-the Christmas and Virtual Summer Fairs. Events were taken online to enable fundraising to continue safely. As a result we have been able to support a range of activities within the school including technology and phonics upgrade and funding school trips. In addition, we have attracted donations from local retailer5 and businesses to help towards updating the remaining classroom screens to aid teaching for 2020121.
