**Objects:** FOR THE RELIEF OF POVERTY BY THE PROVISION OF GRANTS AND LOANS TO ASSIST:   1.  RETIRED CLERGY WHO RESIDE OR WHO HAVE SERVED IN THE DIOCESE OF CARLISLE AND THEIR SPOUSES AND DEPENDANTS  2.  DESERTED SPOUSES OF CLERGY WHO RESIDE OR WHO HAVE SERVED IN THE DIOCESE OF CARLISLE AND THEIR DEPENDANTS   3.  RETIRED LICENSED LAY WORKERS WHO HAVE SERVED IN THE DIOCESE OF CARLISLE AND THEIR SPOUSES AND DEPENDANTS.

**Activities:** The Retired Clergy and Dependants Fund provides for the relief of poverty by assisting retired Church of England clergy, licensed lay workers or deserted spouses of clergy who reside or served in the Diocese of Carlisle and their dependants.  It makes grants to assist with the costs of moving when clergy retire and provides support throughout the year but in particular at Christmas.
