## THE FRIENDS OF JOHN RAY INFANTS AND JUNIOR SCHOOLS ## FINANCE SPEECH – AGM OCTOBER 2021 Good Evening Everyone, thank you all for joining our Annual AGM tonight. I’ll start with the Infants (and Nursery) account. We started the school year (Sept 2020) with an opening balance of £3,670.87 Due to the pandemic our fundraising was limited but we still managed to raise £3,069.42. Our expenditure this year paid for: £3.60 for winners chocolates (Design an Elf Competition) £84.00 for Xmas Crackers (School Xmas Lunch) £468.00 for Year 2 Leavers T-Shirts We were very fortunate to receive a donation of £29,883.28 to be spent improving the Nursey. £2,982.91 was spent on various classroom items, including furniture and learning aids. £6,797.00 was spent on WIFI £20,620.00 was spent on a Garden overhaul We also received a £340.00 refund for pre paid discos from ‘Jazz it up Events’ The closing balance for the Infants account is £5,812.32 The Junior Account started the year with a balance of £2,133.51, again, fundraising has been limited but we still raised £1,551.97 Our expenditure has paid: £105.00 for Year 6 leavers ice cream £123.00 PTA Insurance £94.45 for Xmas Crackers (School Xmas Lunch) £3.60 for winners chocolates (Design an Elf Competition) £539.00 for Fish Tank £516.42 for Year 6 Leavers Hoodies The closing balance on this account is £2,535.34 This now concludes the accounts for both schools.
