Introduction
The Friends of Squirrels Heath Schools have had a productive year, filled with successful fundraising initiatives and community support. Our goal remains to enhance the educational experience for our students through various activities, events, and resources. Below is an overview of our financial activities and achievements for the fiscal year.
Income Highlights

Tesco Grant: We secured a generous grant of £5,000 from Tesco, which has been pivotal in supporting our planned projects.

WPA Grant: An additional grant of £1,900 was received from the WPA Fund, contributing further to our outdoor physical initiatives.

Sponsored Read: Our sponsored read event was a resounding success, raising £1,419.79. With successful gift aid claims of £319.82, we maximized the benefits of this activity.

Summer Fete: This year, our summer fete proved to be our most successful fundraising event, bringing in an impressive £1,747.44.

Asda Fundraising: Through Asda’s school fundraising initiative, we raised £442.64, further boosting our financial capabilities.

Tea Towel Sales: The tea towels were a hit, benefiting from bulk pricing which allowed us to profit more effectively.

Our new summer fete games were a huge success and these were donated to us by a very generous supporter.
Spending Highlights

-New Markings in the key stage 1 playground

-The WPA grant was spent on new outdoor equipment for the reception area and is interchangeable
-A contribution was made towards the new projector in the Key stage 2 hall
-Half of the Tesco Grant was spent on new sports equipment for the Key stage 2 pupils
-We funded the books, games, arts and crafts supplies and various other equipment chosen by the key stage 1 classes to be used during wet play.
Event Contributions
Every event we organized this year yielded a profit, underscoring the committee's careful cost management and effective planning. The donation of new games for the summer fete was particularly appreciated and we are excited about how this will enhance our future fundraising efforts.
Community Engagement & Communication
We understand the importance of keeping parents and the community informed about our fundraising efforts. We have made strides in sharing updates through newsletters, social media, and school communication platforms. Looking forward, we aim to establish a specific project or target for our fundraising initiatives, providing a clear goal for our community to rally around.
Conclusion
This year has demonstrated the strength and generosity of our community. Thanks to various grants, successful events, and the hard work of our committee and volunteers, we continue to make significant contributions to the enhancement of our schools. We look forward to another successful year, with continued efforts to involve and inform our community in our fundraising efforts.
Our first aim is to update 30 chrome books for use in the Key stage 1 setting
