October 2018

2023 was yet another good year for the Society . Nine events were promoted and organised which included the bus and car running days at the museum together with the clairvoyance evening , and the Classic car rally at Lincoln Castle . All these provided some good income for the society over the year and I would like to thank all those involved with the organising of these events , and those who helped on the day of course . Feedback from visitors was especially heartening with many saying ‘ well done to all ` adding we will be back next time .

The museum was open to visitors every Sunday , as well as Tues and Thursdays and these days were supported well too . A special note of thanks here must go to Pam who diligently undertakes a huge amount of housekeeping regularly each week , the appearance of the museum and the exhibits are often acknowledged well by our visitors , and rightly so .

An opportunity given to the society to purchase a restored Bristol L type bus once owned by the Lincolnshire Road Car , and via donations from members and other enthusiastic friends the asking price was secured very quickly and the bus came to the museum in 2024 .

Thanks must also go to the members who spent a considerable amount of time looking after the vehicle collection , the premises and surrounding areas , and the somewhat daunting administration sometimes . And to those who contribute financially to the society on a regular basis. Thank you all .

As you know members receive a quality magazine four times during the year thanks to Steve and Paul , which keep us abreast of restoration work at the museum as well as including a mix of motoring articles .

Peter very enthusiastically looks after the publicity side of things ably assisted by a small band of members , Sue has provided great secretarial skills in addition to being a backbone on the renewal of the museum accreditation scheme , and last but no means least, Mike who deals with many matters particularly the financial issues each week which can be considerable

Finally I would like to acknowledge the ongoing support from North Kesteven District Council who over the years continue to give support to the society.

## **Acheivements & Performance**

Thanks to the efforts of Lee & Mike, we received 2 very useful grants. One from the Transport Trust towards the restoration of the 1935 Trent SOS bus, the second from the Derbyshire Environmental Trust for the replacement of the boundary fence.
