MOSTON & DISTRICT SPORTS AND YOUTH CLUB (Incorporating Moston Junior Football Club (1993) Affiliated to New Moston Community Association)

SECRETARY’S REPORT THURSDAY 14TH JULY 2022

This has been another outstanding season with many of our teams achieving considerable success in league and cup competitions as well as in mini soccer tournaments. . Most have succeeded in winning at least one trophy. Congratulations to everyone on their various successes in League and Cup Competitions. Football has eventually emerged from the restrictions imposed as a result of Covid 19. However, there is still a need to ensure that everyone remains safe.

The club continues to work with Manchester City Council and FC United of Manchester to develop the joint project relating to the community stadium on RJPF. Two pitches are available on RUPF for our use with a pitch having been developed at Boggart Hole Clough athletics track with the changing accommodation to follow as soon as financial circumstances allow). However. further work on the pitches will be required during the next few months. An agreement has still to be reached regarding the future development of additional pitches to enable the club to fulfil its development plan. Our partnership with FCUM is an integral part of the club and will continue to develop in the future (despite the difficulties which have been experienced in the past).

This has also been a difficult period for the club from a financial perspective. The need to ensure that revenue matches exoenditure is essential. It is important in terms of ensuring that the club is better able to respond to the pressures which will continue to arise during over the next twelve months

The club continues to receive support fromm Manchester County FA in recognition of our status as a Charter Standard Community Clu. In order to retain this status, however, it is important that the club continues to make every effort to develop girls’ football during the coming season. The club also remains a Community Sports Club registered with the Charity Commission and is also an Active Sports Club forming part of the Greater Manchester Sports Partnership.

The presentation events were a resounding success and all parents and players were wel behaved throughout the two sessions. As always, thanks are due to everyone who contributed to the organisation of this event.

Our recognition as a Charter Standard Community Club has continued to help raise the club’s profile. Many young players are being attracted to the club but there is an urgent need to identify more volunteers to assist with coaching and other equally important jobs “off the pitch”. It may be necessary to try and arrange some additional publicity in order to try and recruit some of these additional volunteers. The Executive Committee consisting of the appointed trustees will continue to try and promote the club’s wider interest in the local community and to identify sources of funding which will help to secure the club's long term future. Consequently, the axecutive will continue to report on a variety of matters as the need arises. The club is only as strong as the people who represent its interests. That so much has been achieved during the past year is a tribute to everyone involved. Many thanks to everyone for their help and support. Finally, | would also like to thank Paul Mitchell for all his help, advice and support on so many matters relating to Ronald Jonnson Playing Fields/Broachurst Park and many other aspects of the Club's activities during the past twelve months.

Auditor’s Report for Financial Year 2021/22

The club were reminded of the need to ensure that reserved were maintained at a n appropriate level and should match anticipated expenditure for next financial year. In addition, it was, once again, emphasised that there was a need to diversify sources of income as there was too much reliance on subscriptions. It was also essential that costs, especially of kit and equipment, were kept under effective control. It was noted that the accounts represented an accurate record of the club's overall financial position at the present time.
