Birchwood Grove PTA Annual Report Page 3
The past financial year has been very successful in terms of fundraising and events the team have put on. We have seen a significant increase in the amount raised from activities which was £18,161.36, a increase on the £16,001.67 in the previous year.
Our fund raising has been driven by the following activities:
-
The Summer and Christmas Fayres and raffles, making a total of £7582.29, compared to £6692.73 last year.
-
A series of “Make the rules days” where children came in out of uniform, with coloured hair, with soft drinks and a variety of other broken rules raised in total £650.73 through the year and would have only been possible with the support of the staff.
-
The school lottery continued and was successful in raising £1009.30 in the year, continuing the slight downward trend year on year.
-
Ice Cream sales proved very popular in after school sales raising a total of £573.38.
-
Christmas Card Sales of £356.78.
-
Uniform sales, all now second hand, has made an amazing contribution of £961.13, over doubling what was made last year.
-
Our popular ‘someone special’ sales in school where children pick a small gift for their loved one around mothers and fathers day, continued to create much excitement amongst the children who took part and raised £758.25, slightly down on last years £970.71, however we didn’t have any surplus stock this year therefore expenses were higher.
-
Book bingo was a new activity and raised an amazing £737.80.
GRANTS
We were successful in securing two grants this year, £6000 from Thakeham homes, towards shade sails for the field, hopefully these will be installed asap and £2500 from Gatwick Airport Co. We’d like to thank these companies for supporting our school.
EXPENSES
We paid our annual membership to Parentkind, which provides us with insurance cover for our events along with help and advice. We also paid our annual Lottery Licence and Tens licence that enables us to hold our Summer and Christmas raffle draws and sale of alcohol at individual events.
GRANTS MADE TO SCHOOL
This year we donated £12,776.61 (net) to the school, compared to £17,416.22 last financial year. This included £1,608.25 for new RWI books, £8195 for Forest School. £911.60 towards the sign in system. £47.50 for santa to give everyone haribo. £60 for scrap art scheme. £300 for buddy day. £645.00 teachmateai teacher licenses. £869.28 towards various classroom supplies for all year groups.
