## **Annual Report 2024**

The Village Hall has had a busy year for bookings and the trustees and friends of the hall continue to work tirelessly to maintain this wonderful resource for the Parish and the wider community.

Maintenance of and upgrading of facilities and the building itself continues to be a drain on our reserves, and whilst another loss is recorded for 2024, the projects pursued form the basis of this.

Solar panel installation is an investment for the future and we are just starting to see export tariff monies coming back into the hall.

We have invested significantly in compliance works, in particular electrical and have upgraded the alarm system and replaced taps in the washrooms for push taps to mitigate water wastage when taps have been left on.

Heating the hall in winter continues to further drain reserves and we are looking to explore more cost effective systems of heating our spaces in the future.

We have re-licenced to hold wedding ceremonies and we hope to see bookings increase in this area. There have been 5 weddings this year.

The trustees have invested time into staging some live music events which saw the hall come alive with hundreds of happy people dancing in the beautiful ballroom.

We continue to support and subsidise other charities who hold events in our hall and there have been new regular users and countless private bookings.

The trustees are looking forward to a busy 2025 building on the projects commenced this year and continuing to protect and preserve this historic building to keep it at the centre of village life.
