Funda s in Nottin hamshire Review of activities and future developments Fundays in Nottinghamshirc funds the provision of education. fun, recreatioo friendship and stimulation for children and Y￿ng adult5 with m(MJerate tovery severe physical an(Vor learning disabilities in Notiinghamshire. In order to make a significant difference to the lives of the young disabled amongst us. we need financial SUPPOTL and are grateful to those who have provided it. In the year ended 30 November 2021. amongst the organisations and individuals that supported us were.. J N Derbyskn're Tn The Mary Potter Convent Hospilal Tn The Jessie Spencer Tn The Jones 1986 Charitable Trust The Lady ￿lld Tn Th¢TECltheTn Family Foundation Without continuing supporL we would have to disappoint the m05t vulnerable in our County, and it is our resolve that this must not happen. We will continue to ask for finance, and we will look to existing supporters for continuity while. at the same time. tying to open new avenues. The Covid-19 Pandemic has continued to have a rnajor impact on activities but in the summer 2021 we were delighted to continue our financial support of APTCOO in Mansfield and Retford and the summer schools at Yeoman Park SchTr)l in Mansfield Wocdhouse and summer activities provided by Rainbows. Due to the pandemic the summer schwl and adult week at Oak Field School did not take place in the summer of 2021. The Nottingham Theatre of Citizens CODtinucs to thrive in its new home at Nottingham high School for Girls and they are working on a new pr￿ludlon. During August 2021, the group also managed some socially distanced Tneeting5 at the Arboretum, which were successful. Tutors continue to monitor individual student needs. The Magenta Dance Group is thriving at its new home at Dance4 in Sneinton. The Poety Group will be rut)ning at the University of Nottingham in Spring 2022. The tutors for the different grLNJPS are ever mindful of the necessity to ensure safe practices whilst the pandemic is still with us. The young people who we aim to help are a most vulnerable gTOUP. borne out of isolation. reje¢tiort knd low self-èsteem. The pandemic has highlighted this even more as the young people ate in high_risk groups. many of whom had to shield for long periods. This vulnerability can leave them open to abuse of every kind. Often, their family circumstances mean that Itfe opportunities are very limtted - theiT chances to develop friendships are miniTnal. Our funding makes it possible for them to share enjoyable experiences and. through those shared experiences, to make friends and to have a greater understanding of the wider world including increased contact with the general community. This Promotes inner strength and enhances self- esleem which does help to empower these vulnerable young people so that they have the self- respect to better stand up to abuse. The object is to allow people with disabilities to feel better

Funda sin Nottin amshire about themselves. and to support and sustain those better feelings. leading to happier lives. It has been wonderful to obseTve the young people as they return to more nonnal ways in which they can meet their friends. In 2021. we financially supported the following events. some of which continue on a weekly basis. See above for notes on activities during the current Pandemic. The trustees take due regard of the Charity Commission's guidanrz on public benefit when fijnding the events listed below. Many of the events we fijnd would not have been available to the disabled childTen and young people had it not been for the financial 5UPPOrt offered by the charity. Theatre Arts Group "The Notiingham Theatre of Citizens. _ established for age group I840 with about 30 young adults participatin& all with moderale to severe learning difficulties, meets in central Nottingham for 36 evening Sessions each year. Funda s in Nottin amshire We plan to continue financial support for our range of activities. Clearly the CU￿ellt pandemic has curtailed some activities and planning for the future in more uncertain. Funding Although a number of backers continue to siipport us on an annual basis this is becoming more dilyicult as demands increase. With this in mind we hope that all will understand the reason for us maintaining cash in the bank, and we will be pleased to tsjk to anyone to piovide clarification.
