Funda s in Nottin amshire Review of activities and future developments Fundays in Nottinghamshi￿ fimds the provision of educatio￿ ￿ recreatiotL friendship and stimulation for children and young adults with rnodere to very severe physical andlor learning disabilities in Nottinghamshire. In order to make a significant difference to the lives of the young disabled atnongsl us. we need financial supporl and are grat￿1 to those who have provided it. In the year endal 30 November 2020. amongst the organisations and individuals that supported us were.. Trustees of the Jones 1986 Charitable Th¢ Mary Pott¢r Conv¢Dt Hospital Trnst Tn Thc Jessie Spencer Tnjst Cimmie Winton charit￿le TNst The Lady TDJSt Th¢ T E Cla￿e Tnlst Without continuing support. we would have to disappoint the most vulnerable in our County, and it is our resolve that this must noi happen. We will continue to ask for finance. and we will look to existing supporters for Continuity while. at the same time. lrying to open new avenues. The Covid-19 Pandemic has had a major impact on activities but in the summer 2020 we were delighted to continue our financial support of APTCOO in Mansfield and Retford and the summer schools at Yeoman Park Sch(x)l in Mansfield Wocdhouse and Ash Lea in Cotgrave. The latter was a new group for Fundays to support. Due to the pandemic the summer sch(M)l and adult week at Oak Field khool did not tske place in the summer of 2020. The Nottingham Theatre of Citizens has continued on line. During August 2020. the group did manage some socially distanced meetings at the Atboretum, which were successful. The group returned to College Street ID the Autumn. but fijrther restrictions led to a return to on line activity. Tutors continue to monitor individual student needs. Inndon Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA) courses have continued on line. Magenta Dance Group met again when regulations allowed but had to close during restrictions. The Poety Group met until the lock down in March. Trustees have supported the Playhwse Platfonn for adults with learning disabilities. Again this continued mainly on line. The young people who we aim to help are a most vulnerable group. bome wt of isolation, rejection and low selfsteem. The pandemic has highlighted this even more as the young people are in high risk groups. many having to shield. This vulnerability Can leave them open to abuse of every kind. Ofteo their family circumstanr£s mean that life opportunities are very limited their chances to develop fiiendships are minimal. Our funding makes it possible for them to share enjoyable experiences and. thr(￿gh those shared experiences. to make friends and to have a greater understanding of the wider worfd including increased

Funda s in Nottin amshire ontact with the general community. This Promotes inner stren8th and enhances self-esteem which does help to empower these vulnerable young people so that they have the self-respect to better stand up to abuse. The objert is to allow people with disabilitie5 to feel better about thern5elves. and to support and sustain those better feelings, leading to happier lives. In 2020. we financially supported the following events. some of which continue on a weekly basis. See above for note5 on activities during the current Pandemic. The trustees take due regard of the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit when funding the events listed below. Many of the events we fund would not have been available to the disabled children and young people had it not be￿ for the financial support offered by the charity. Theatre Arts Group 'The Nottingham Theatre of Citizens" _ estsblished for age group 1840 with about 30 young adults participatin& ail with moderate to severe learnin8 difficulties. meets in central Nottingham for 36 evening sessions each year. It is a very successful theatrical production ompany, run by young ttjtors with appropriate skill& and is a ￿eat source of pleasure to all. Dante/Keep Fit Group Weekly sessions for ab￿t 15 people. age grDUP 1940. m¢ets in central Nottingham and is open to all with learning difficulties. Poetry Group We funded a poety course at Nottingham University for young adults with learning ditTiculties between January 2020 and March 2020. The course received very positive feedback from attendees. FunDays in Conjunttioo with APTCOO (A Place To Call Our OWD) In 2020 we continued our successful relationship with APTCOO in Mansfield who, with our financial supporL provided activities in the summer in Mansfield and in Retford. This was well received by the children attending. By p￿lIng our resources they are able to incre provision for our shared audience. FunDays supporting Yeoman Park School and Ash ika School Financial support from FunDays enabled the schools to operate a two week summer school. The feedback was universally excellent Without FunDays this would not have been possible. Playhouse Platform- Fundays h&s supported this daytime theatre group run by Nottingham Playhouse for young adults with l&Ynin8 disabilities.

Funda s in Nottin amshire Events in 2021 We plan to continue financial support for range of activities. Clearly the current pandemic has curtailed some activities and planning for the future in more unc£rtain. Fundays wtll work with any of the providers who are intending to summer sch(x)Is in 2021. Funding Although a number of backers Continue to wpw)rt us on an annual basis this is becoming more difficult as demands increase With this in mind we hope that all will understand the reason for us maintsining cash in the baDK and we will be pleased to talk to anyone to provide clarification. We hope that our supporters will understand the trus*es' policy that the proper way to avoid disappointing the disabled y(￿jg is that we raise money in one year and use it in the following year. Our Team The trustees are impressed v4ith the skilled, dedicated and kind personnel who run the events funded by us on a day t(yJay b&8is Looking after the young with complex physical and mental disabilities requires special people. and we are indeed fortunate that such individuals work at the summer schools and other events. The chilthw the y(￿1g adults and their Carers have good reason to be grateful to them. Reserves policy and risk management During the year the trustees have reviewed prows against the objectives and as part of that process have catried out a review of the risks which fatt the charity All such risks are considered low risk by the trustees. Our reserves at the end of Novemb￿ 2020 were £64.869 (2019 £64.292).
