THE FRED & MARJORIE SAINSBURY CHARITABLE TRUST TRUSTEES REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31°" MARCH 2021
The charity, was founded by the Will of Frederick James Sainsbury dated 5" June 2000, when he left the residue of his estate to his Trustees to establish a charitable trust to be called The Fred and Marjorie Sainsbury Charitable Trust.
The objects of the Charitable Trust state that the Trustees shall hold the capital and income, and all or such part or parts of the capital, at such time or times and in such manner to, or for the benefit of, such exclusively charitable objects and purposes in any part of the world as the Trustees may in their discretion think fit.
The Trustees may in their discretion, for the period of 21 years from the date of this Deed, instead of applying the income of the Charity in any year, accumulate all or any part of such income at compound interest by investing the same, and the resulting income, in any authorised investments and hold the same as an accretion to and as part of the capital of the Charity, without prejudice to their right to apply the whole or any part of such accumulated income in any subsequent year as if the same were income of the Charity arising in the then current year.
TRUSTEES APPROVAL
We have considered and approve the annexed accounts and confirm that to the best of our knowledge and belief we have made available all records and information relevant to their preparation.

THE FRED & MARJORIE SAINSBURY CHARITABLE TRUST YEAR ENDED 31°" MARCH 2021
INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF THE FRED AND MARJORIE SAINSBURY CHARITABLE TRUST
I report on the accounts of The Fred and Marjorie Sainsbury Charitable Trust for the year ended 31st March 2021, which are set out on pages three to five.
Respective resposibilities of Trustees and Examiner
The charity's Trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's Trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year (under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act)) and that an independent examination is required.
It is my resposibility to:
- examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act - to follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act); and - to state whether particular matters have come to my attention
Basis of the Independent Examiner's Report
My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair view’, and the report is limited to those matters set out in the . statements below.
Independent Examiner's Statement
In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:
-| which gives me reasonable cause to believe that, in any material respect, the requirements - to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the 2011 Act; and - to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the 2011 Act
have not been met; or
-2 to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
