The Ackroyd Centre is based in the Croft¢n Park ward and is used predomlnanlly by tho local Cornmunity
living in Clofton Park, Honor Oak Park and Forgst Hill., however, people from across the Borough ol
Lewisham use the centr&. Th8 Ackroyd Centre provides hall space, meetings roorns, office space. an
outdoor play area, a kitchen and dinlng area which ara all usèd on a daily ba51s by our resideni usai-group5.
The Cgnlre hosts Pitta PalEa Day Nursery, Acom After-school Club, Breakfast Club Holiday Scheme, play
and leaming a¢livilies and parent and carer support groups. This enables a number ol indivlduals, btjl
holistic services lor chilthen and families, lo co8xisl at one community hub, promoting partnership working
and a￿essIbIlity by the communily to various complemenlary community services under one roof. AGA
also directly delivers a wde programme ol community seNi¢es ar¥J leisure activllies for the over 55's at the
nlre through Ils management ol the Elder Pgople's Support PTOjed.
The ¢entre currently operates almost at lull occupancy. The main hall is now lully booked every wgek. The
Small Hall (OB Rootnl still has capacity Iwl ability lo hir9 depends on activitl8S that are compatible with
sometimes noisy children's activities in the main hall. However, new users have been approaching the
Centre and gaps in schedule5 ale beirrfJ filled. We hire lor children'5 parties on Sundays and school holiday
lime which has increased hire revenue. A local brass band uses us lor practice following consultation wllh
neighb)urs. Pitta Patta nursery lor babies has brought a(>Jed bènelll lo parents in OUT locallty as w911 as
increased revenue.

Sarah Edmonds is the Centre manager and, with Sandra Peirin as EPSP project leader, bolh work hard to
reinstate popular events such as coach trips and EPSP partles. We are keeping the weekly Wednesday
morning EPSP so¢ld as a Warm Spaces event for users. Sarah Edmonds has been dillg8nt in se8ing that
no opportunty vAthin the tems ol the cenlre'$18ase Is missed lor u$ing our space effectively and bringing in
venue.
This has been a much less costly year lor the M￿nIonanCe ol the centre. Inevitable wear and tear and Sm￿1
malnlenance issues have beèn ￿e￿t with promptly and elliciently. We hav8 a reliable plumber and
el￿[11￿an on our trxjoks and a centre user who ha5 be8n very helpful as a handyman lor sm¥l, safe repairs.
The trAJild'ng is gener￿lY in good repair and Comfortable for user groups.

EPSP continues to provi￿ classes, socjals and oulings fer those aged over 55. Our mernbgrship Stands al
105. showing an improvement in numbers attending. We prgvide 8 classes per week, Our Wednesday
socials providè companionship, quizzes Bingo, Arts & Crafts, sing-a-longs. guest speakeTS elc. Our monthly
social sessions and ChTlStmas Paty are well attended.
We arraroe coa¢h lrips, Including ihe seaside, boat trip, cream lea etc.

The directors, committee has uNlertaken an assessment ol the risks la¢gd by the organisalion.
Future funding. Fensions obligallons, strength of ihe direclors commlllee and pressure on staff were seen
as key areas ol risk. These risks were seen as being manageable and a schedule ol review of the
iligalion measures agreed will be m&nl&ned. The organisation has, over ihe past financial year,
Increased revenue via a new higher-paying nursery and by raising hire charges lor other users. It has made
cuts to the cleaning schedulo but without compromising the safety and hygiene standards necessary lor
users. The Ackyoyd has switched energy provider for a b6tter deal and is pressing on all us&rs the need to
conserve energy. Any opportunity io hire oul space during holiday periods that is in accordance with our
lease has teen taken, eg, rehearsal space lor theatre or muslc gyoups.

Indivklua donations, grants from Trusts, Foundations and Government orants and contracts. Some
