Review of operations During the year 2022/23 the Charity continued to raise funds for a modern, fully equipped hospital in Kohat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan (the “Kohat Hospital”), The Kohat Hospital has capacity to provide approximately 120 beds for maternity and general medical purposes in an area seriously lacking in basic medical care. The building work is complete and operations are expected to commence whena detailed strategic, operational, governance and funding plan is agreed with the Al Hamad Hospital (Pvt) Limited, a charitable company that manages the operations of the Kohat Hospital.
The key income for the Charity continues to be a rental property donated by a Trustee that provides a regular, sustainable income stream for the foreseeable future. The Trustees extend their thanks to all of their generous donors who continued to support the Charity in its endeavours to help make life more tolerable for those in need in impoverished areas of the world, with a current focus on Pakistan. The Charity continues a strict policy of no income to any of the Trustees with all services provided on a pro bono basis. All income received is spent purely for charitable purposes.
A rental property was previously recognised as an asset of the Trust but as it is held on trust by a Trustee, it should not be recognised on the Trust’s Balance Sheet and it has therefore been removed.
Capital is now separately disclosed as Unrestricted Capital and Restricted Capital. The Restricted Capital is solely for the purpose of funding the Kohat Hospital.
The Charity continues to operate from Stockport, England.
Bankers The Charity's bankers are The Royal Bank Of Scotland, Objectives of the Organisation Objectives:In Pakistan and such other areas of the world as the trustees consider appropriate 1) to provide medical assistance to the poor and needy in areas of the world that the trustees consider appropriate and the 2) to provide educational assistance to the poor and needy in the area of the world that the trustees consider appropriate.

Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees of AL-HAMD-O-LILLAH (FOUNDATION) TRUST
| report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31 March 2023 which are set out on pages 4 to 8.
Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner
The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity’s trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed. The charity is preparing accrued accounts and | am qualified to undertake examination by being a qualified member of the Association Of Chartered Certified Accountants.
-
It is my responsibility to: e examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act; ° follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act: and
-
° state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of independent examiner's report
My examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records, It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a “true and fair view” and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
Independent examiner's statement
In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:
-
1 which gives me reasonable cause to believe that, in any material respect, the requirements: ° to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the 2011 Act; and
-
° to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the 2011 Act
-
have not been met; or
2 to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

The rental property income related to 67 Withington Road and is a property that was previously three apartments that is now seven apartments. There was a misunderstading that the trust owned the property, beleving that the trusts name would be on the title deeds. It was during the year discovered that a trust cannot hold property and can’t be on the title deed. There were a number of options discussed to deal with this, the Charity could either become incorporated or a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, both of which can hold property in the name of the trust which for longevity it could be beneficial. The Trustees' finally decided it was easier to take the property out of the trust's accounts and hence disposal is shown in current year's accounts.

- 9 GOING CONCERN
The charity's main source of income is donation from public and rental income from properties. The trustees consider, having regard to reserves that it is appropriate to prepare the accounts on a going concern basis and, consequently, the accounts do not include any adjustments that would be necessary if the funding income should cease.
10 POST BALANCE SHEET EVENTS
The Trustees do not consider that there have been any events since the balance sheet date that significantly impact on the financial statements.
11 FINANCIAL INSTRUMENTS
The charity only has financial assets and financial liabilities of a kind that qualify as basic financial instruments. Basic financial instruments are initially recognised at transaction value and subsequently measured at their settlement value.
