The trusiees present their report with the financial statements of the charity for the period 2 January 2023 to
31 December 2023. The trustees have adopied the provisions of Accouniing and Reporting by Charilies- Ststement of
Recommended Practice applicable lo charities preparing iheir a¢¢ounts in accordance wilh the Finan¢ial Reporting
Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 1021 (effective l January 2019).
History of the Charity:
Bilal Masjid Trust (Greenford). formerly known as Greenford Islamic welfa￿ Association {GIW A). was established over
20 years ago on 15th April 2003. The primary purpose at the lime was lo provide a place for daily congregalional prayers.
Jummah (Friday) prayer and religious classes for Muslim children. However. nobody envisaged ￿ the time that this was
the birth of one of the key Masjid in Greenford.
It commenced in 2003 by hiring a small garage behind the shops, which was situated ai 1290A Horsenden Lane North.
Then as the community grew and the demand increased, some key community Brothers & Si51ers look ihe courage to
purchase 2 Shops on Horsenden Lane North in March 201 O, where Masjid is established today.
In December 2014, the community took the opportunity lo purchase a next-door shop where the existing Masjid is
standing on 82-86 Horsenden Lane North. In 2018 2019 Masjid went through significant expansion work.
At that lime, we renied Ihe properties for our Imams, accommodalion and paid ihousands of pounds each monih on rent.
We were a¢tively looking for premises nearby where il is easy for Imam to Iravel to the M&8jid. By ihe Will of Almighty,
one of the upstairs flats came for sale. and Masjid grabbed the opportunity to purchase the flat.
In March 2021, Masjid purchased a flat 88A Horsenden Lane North io accommodale our Imam. And thejourney of the
Masjid is still continued.

ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE
As tru￿¢¢$ of the Masjid, it is our responsibility to provide a comprehensive overyiew of the achievements and
perfomiance of the Masjid during th¢ reporting period. W¢ are proud to present this report, highlighting the significant
accomplishments and progress made by the Masjid in fulfilling its mission and serving the community.
l. Expansion and Renovatlon:
Over the past year. the Masjid undertook a minor renovation work io a¢commodate the growing needs of the community.
This ambitious endeavour was successfully completed, resuliing in. improved facilities. and enhanced amenities. The
renovation ha5 allowed us to cater to a larger congregation and provide a comfortable and welcoming environment for
worshippers. The main work done was consiru¢ting the Mehrab and Minbar.

In the past year. Bilal Masjid has organised a variety of programs and events aimed al enriching the spirilual, educational,
and social lives of our community members. We are proud to reflect on these inilialives, which were designed io foster
unity, personal growlh. and a deeper understanding of Islamic values.
Below is an overview of ihe key activities conducted throughout the year:
Youth Programs and Guest Speakers
A series of youih programs were held at the Nqasjid. fealuring talks by dislinguished scholars such as Ustadh Haaris Abdus
Samad and Maulana Majid. These ses5ion5 addressed pertinent topics related to faiih. personal dewelopmeni. and
navigalinby modern challenges while slaying grounded in Islamic teachings. To enga¥e the wider community. the M&8jid
arranged talk5 Ihal were followed by shared meals. These gatherings served io deepen Community bonds while providing
spirilual guidance and reflection.
2. Summer BBQ for Youth (July 2023)
To promote social interaction and foster a sense of community. a summer BBQ wa5 organised for young boys and girls.
The evenl offered a relaxed and enjoyable environment where participants could connect wilh peers in a positive selting.
Eid Family Fun Day (Aprll 2023)
Bilal Masjid a￿anged a bus tour for ihe community a5 part of ihe Eid Family Fun Day, in collaboration with Muslim
History Tours. Participants ¢xplored London'$ rich Muslim heritsge, dis¢ov¢ring the stories behind iconic landmarks.

Lonely OrphAns Charity Collection (May 2023)
The Masjid hosted a charity collection for Lonely Orphans in May 2023. Students from the Madr&sah actively participated
in this iniliative, g￿herIng donations io support orphans in need.
Pre-Eid Street Bazaar (June 2023)
For the first time. Bilal Masjid organized a Pre-Eid Street Bazaar in June 2023. ahead of Eid ul-Adha. Local businesses
sel up stalls offering clothing, jewellery, food, ice cream, mehndi, de¢oralions. and gifts. The evenl was a great success.
creating a lively almosphere that was enjoyed by all.
Madra54h Sports Day (July 2023)
To encourdge physical activity and teamwork, a sports day was organized for the boys and giTls of the Madrasah. This
evenl foslered healthy competilion and provided a fun outlet for the students.
Eid Salah In the PArk (In July 2023)
Bilal Masjid hosted ihe Eid ul-Adha Salah in Horsenden Hill Park, providing an open and accessible space for the
community lo gather and pray together.
Day Trip to Bournemouth Be4eh (September 2023)
The Masjid organized a day trip to Bournemouth Beach for the youth of Greenford. This outing allowed participants to
relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the coast while fostering camaraderie and friendship.
9. Charity Bake S*lt (Seplember 2023)
Young Madra5ah studenls organized a bake sale to raise funds for the victims of the Morocco earthquake. This charitable
initiative highlighted the importance of ¢ompa5sion and community service.

The Madrasah also hosted a ¢alligraphy workshop, where sludenis explored the art of Islamic calligraphy, honing iheir
skills in a creative and meaningful way.

The year-end Jal%a marked the completion of another successful academic year. Certificates and medals were distributed
to students, recognizing iheir hard work and dedicalion to iheir 51udies.
12. M4sjid Al Aqsa Model Competilion (December 2023)
The Madrasah held a special event Whe￿ Sludents-built models of Masjid Al-Aqsa and delivered presentations on ihe
Journey of Isra and Mi'raj. This hands-on learning experience helped students deepen their underslanding of Islamic
hislory.

13. Open Diy and Islamic Exhibition (June 2023)
Bilal Masjid organised an Open Day and Islamic Exhibition, welcoming the enlire Greenford Community. including non-
Muslims, lo explore and learn more about the mosque and Islamic practice5. The evenl provided an opportunity for
visitor8 to exp¢rien¢e the mosque's atmosphere and learn about what Muslims do during prayers and other religious
activitie5. The exhibition feaiured displays of Islamic scriplure5. models of the Kaaba in Makkah, a depiction of the
Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him) house, and highlighted the significant contributions of Muslims in science
and various inventions Ihrou¥hout history. This iniliative aiTlled to foster understanding and strengthen community lies.
14. Women's Ghusl Workshop {October 2023)
In October. the women of the community held a workshop on the Islamic procedure5 for the deceased's ghusl and
shrouding. This important evenl provided education and training on how lo perform ihi5 cru¢ial religTious duty with care
and respect.

The achievements and performance of the M&8jid during ihe reporting period reflect our dedication and commilmenl to
serving the community and promoting the values of Islam. We are grateful for the support and contributions of the
community members, volunteers, and donors who have made these accomplishments possible.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
In this financial review, we present an overview of the Masjid's financial p¢rforn)ance and stability for ihe reporting
period. We aim to provide transparency and a¢¢ountability regarding the management of fund5 entrusted to us by the
community.
. Ineome Sources
The Masjid's income primarily Comprises donations from community members, including regular contributions, one-lime
donations, and fundraising efforts. We are grateful for ihe Continued generosity of our community, which enables us to
sustain our operations and undertake various initialives for the benefit of Ihe community. Masjid is using different card
ierminals such as Paya Charity, Sumup, Gocardless for direct debit and Stripe for online payments. As economy is getling
Cashless, most of the people prefer to pay via one of the above payment methods. Using the iechnology has played a greai

accurate financial records and implement robust internal controls to safeguard the funds entrusted lo us. We also engage
independent examiner to conduct annual financial examination, ensuring transparency and accounlability in our financial
management pra¢li¢es.
3. Fundralslng And Flnancial SustainAbility
To ensure the long-lerni financial sustainability of ihe Masjid, we actively engage in fundraising efforts throughout the
year. These efforts include organising fundraising events specially in last days of Ramadan, seeking donalions from the
members of community during Friday prayers and exploring other opportunities. We maintain open and transparent
communication with the community regarding our financial needs and Ihe impact of their contributions.

We Conduct scenario analysis, considering exiernal factors such as economic condilions. Changes in regulations, and
community demographics. This proactive approach allow5 US to identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate
them, ensuring the Ma5jid's ability io fun¢lion as a going concern.

Future Plans
The Trustees are committed to the ongoing development and growth of our institution. In this section. we outline our
future plans and vision for the Masjid, aiming to provide transparency and clarity regarding our objectives and aspirations.
l. Facility Upgrades
We remain dedicated lo ensuring that Bilal Masjid continues lo be a comfortable and welcoming space for all worshippers.
This year, we successfully completed the construction of the Mehrab and Minbar, significantly enhancing the prayer area.
Addilionally, we insialled a skylighi in Ihe toilet area, improving ventilation and natural lighi.
Looking ahead to 2024, we plan to undertake further improvemenis. including,.
Inslalling a new signboard at the front of the Masjid 10 improve visibility and identification.
ii. Cladding ihe front pillars of the mosque wilh sione. adding aesthetic value and durability.
iii. Installing an eleclric-powered awning al the mosque entrance to provide shade and protection from rain and snow
for worshippers wailing outside. especially during busy times like Friday prayers and Eid.
iv. A retractable awning will be installed in the backyard to provide covered space for youih aclivilies, overflow during
Friday prayers. and various community evenis throughout the year, particularly during Ramadan.
New Flooring will also be laid in the backyard area, making it more praciical and comfortable for youth programs
and outdoor activilies.
vi. These facility upgrades will ensure ihai the Masjid remains a safe, accessible, and functional space for all members
of our community, allowing us lo continue serving our congregation effectively and efficiently.
2. Youth Ind Educgtion
Recognising the importance of nurturingy the spiritual growth of our youth, we will focus on expanding our educational
programs and activities. This will involve establishing a dedicaled youth cenlre near the Masjid premises, equipped with
resources for learning and development. Additionally, we plan to enhance our existing educational programs to cater lo
the community's evolving needs.
Community Service5
Our commitment lo serving the community remains at ihe heart of our future plans. We aim lo expand our social welfare
initiatives. including food drives, clothing distribution, and ouireach programs, particularly during the Eid festivals, to
marginalized communities. These initiatives reflecl our ongoing efforts to foster inclusivity and support those in need.
During Ramadan, Bilal Masjid organized daily Iftar and dinner for approximately 125 brothers and elders throughout the
month. In the lasi l O nights. we also provided Suhoor for those observing Iiikaf, ensuring they had access to proper meals
during their spiritual relreal.
An exciling development in our community is the increasing engagement of women in spiritual activities at the Masjid.
Lasl year, they organized a successful workshop on how to shroud deceased women, offering valuable guidance on this
essential religious practice. Moving forward, we are committed to involving women in more educational and spiritual
gatherings al our center. We plan to offer women-specific talks. workshops. and other programs tailored to their unique
needs and interests.
Additionally, we are focused on nurturing the next generation of our community. To keep our youth connected with the
mosque, we are planning weekly courses specifically designed for teenage boys and girls. These courses aim lo create a
positive and engaging environment that will help young individuals grow spiritually and stay rooted in their faith.
Through these initiatives, we strive to ensure that Bilal Masjid continues to be a hub of support, education, and spiritual
growth for all members of our community.

4. Technology Inlegration
We acknowledge the importance of technology in enharkcing communication and conneclivily. In the coming years, we
plan to leverage technology to improve our services, streamline administrative processes, and enhance community
engagement.
Currently, we have a user-friendly Masjid app thai connects us with the community, offering convenient a¢¢ess to
prayer limes, eveni update5, and other important infornialion. We also ulilize digiial ¢ommuni¢ation tools such as
Facebook, Twitter, and Insiagram to keep the community infomied and engaged.
In addilion, we have implemented a cashless kiosk card lermin41 at ihe Masjid to facilitaie card payments. According
to our analysis, 75 % of our donors now COD¢ribute via cfird, partlcularly on FridAyS, Wlth only 250/0 Opting for cash
donalions. This shift has significantly reduced Ihe need for physical handling of cash by our staff. increasing the
e￿]elenCY and effectiveness of our donaiion 5yslem. By embracing these technological advancements, we aim lo
continue modemizing our operations and enhancing the overall experience for our community.

Our future plans reflect our commitment to continuously improving our services, engaging with the community, and
upholding ihe values of Islam. We are grateful for the support and contributions of our community members, volunleers,

various nationalities and backgrounds and the range of activities and events thai look place during the reporting period.

diverse mix of participants created an inclusive and enriching environmenl where everyone could learn from one another

an opportunity for teamwork, physic￿ exercise, and friendly compelition.
b) Footb811: Regular football matches were orsanized, allowing participants to showcase their skills. build teamworK
and promote a healthy and active lifestyle.
c) Bowling: Bowling sessions provided a rel&xed and social atmosphere for participants lo engage in friendly
competition. develop their bowling techniques, and foster new friendships.
dl Minigolf: Participants enjoyed the challenges and excitement of minigolf, strengthening iheir focus, precision, and
strategic ihinking while having a great lime with their peers.
e) Dodgeball.. Dodgeball sessions encouraged teamwork, agility, and coordinalion. Participants had a blast dodging and
throwing balls while learning valuable communication and strategy lessons.

Archery: Participanis learned ihe ancient art of archery, honing iheir concenlration. discipline. and hand-eye
coordination. It provided a unique and challenging experience for everyone involved.
g) Axe Throwing: Axe throwing sessions allowed participants to test their precision and skill as they learned the
techniques of this ihrilling and ancient sport.
h) Orientation: Orientation sessions were conducted to welcome new participants, introduce them to the program's
values and activities, and provide guidance on how to make the most of their experience.
i) Islamic T4lks: Talks were organized on various Islamic lopics, providing participants with opportunities for spiritual
growth, knowledge acquisition, and reflection.
j) IslAmlc QUI￿¢5. Engaging quizzes were held to test participants, knowledge of Islam. encouraging healihy
competition and learning.
k) Quran Rvltgtion: Participants had the chance to improve their Tecitation of ihe Holy Quran through recitalion classes
and recitation competitions, deepening their understanding and connection with the Quran.
I) HAdith Reeitation: Participants explored the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad Ipeace be upon him) through
Hadith recilation sessions, allowing them lo gain insights into Islamic traditions and values.
m) Health & Fltn¢$s Semlnar: A seminar on health and fitness was organized. providing valuable information on
maintaining a healthy physical and mental lifestyle.
n) Eid BBQS.. Festive Eid BBQS were organized. allowing participants to come together. celebrate the joyous occasion.
and enjoy delicious food in a convivial almosphere.
0) 1ft44r: lftaar event5 were held during the holy monih of Ramadan, where participants gaihered to break iheir fast,
pray together. and engage in community bonding.

2. Mar 2023.. 26 youth attended mini golf, lunch and talk.
Apr 2023: 55 youih attended the youth iftaar and talk.
May 2023: 57 youth attended the Eid bbq and talk.
5. July 2023: 78 youih attended the Eid bbq and talk.
6. Sep 2023: 53 people attended the family bea¢h trip (Hastings and Camber sands).
7. Dec 2023.. 32 youth attended mini golf & talk and additional 20 people attended just the talk/lun¢h.
Islamic talks were an integral part of all events ihroughout the year, providing participants with valuable insights inlo
Islamic leachings, principles, and values. Expert guest speakers were inviled lo share their knowledge and engage
participants in meaningful discussions, further enriching iheir understanding of Islam.
To ensure ihe cornfort and well-being of our participants, breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, or snacks were provided at all
events. Thi5 helped create a welcoming and inclusive environment, where participanls could focus on the activities and
enjoy delicious meals together.
To enhance Communication and keep participanls informed about upcoming events, updates. and importanl
announ¢ements. the Youth Activities page of the Bilal Masjid website was created and diligently maintained. The page,
accessible at httP5:Ilwww.bilalniasjid.co.uk/sern IceslTrouih-acti￿ ities, served as a cenlral hub for program informalion,
event details, and contacl information, allowing participants to stay connecled and engaged ihroughout the year.

This documenl comprises the summary of the annual report for the year 2023. The main focus of this rep)rt is our financial
perforniance during thi5 period.
Madrasah Bilal remains committed to providing quality education and nurturing the spiritual growth of our Siudents.
Student Enrolments:
In 2023, Madr&sah Bilal served a tolal of 165 students across I I classes. We were able to benefit 86 boys and 79 girls
wilh Quran reading and Islamic Studies lessons.

Basis of preparing the finane141 statements
The financial statements of ihe charity, which is a public benefit entity under FRS 102, have been prepared in
accordance with the Charities SORP IFRS 1021 'Accounting and Reporting by C.harilie5'. StalemeDi of
Recommended Practice applicable lo Charities preparing their accounts in accordance with ihe Financial Reporting
Standard applicable in ihe UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 102) (effective l January 20191,, Financial Reporting
Standard 102 'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in Ihe UK and Republic of Ireland, and Ihe Charities
Act 201 l. The financial statements have been prepared under the hislorical c051 convention.
Incoming rtsour¢e$
All incoming resources are included in the statemeni of financial aciivities when eniiilement has passed to ihe
charity. il is probable that the economic benefits associated with the transaction will flow lo the charity and the
amount can be reliably measured. The following specific policies are applied lo particular categories of income..
Income from donations or granis is recognised when there is evidence of enlitlement to the gift, receipt is probable
and its amount can be measured reliably.
legacy income is recognised when receipl is probable and entitlement is established.
Income from donated goods is measured at the fair value of the goods unless this is impractical to measure reliably,
in which case the value is derived from the Cost to the donor or the estimated resale value. Donated facililies and
services are recognised in the a¢¢ounls when received if the value can be reliably measured. No amounts are
included for the contribution of general volunteers.
Income froni coniracis for the suppl}, of services is re¢ognised with the delivery of Ihe contracted service. This is
classified as unreslricled fund5 unless there is a coniraclual requirement for it lo be spent on a particular purpose
and returned if unspent, in which ease il may be reb?arded as restricted.
Resources expended
Expenditure is recogiiised on an accruals basis as a liability 15 incurred. Expendilure includes any V A T which
cannot be fully recovered, and is classified under headings of Ihe slalemenl of financial activities to which it
relates:
Expenditure on raisin8 funds includes the costs of all fundraising activities, events, non-charitable Irading
activilies, and the sale of donated goods.
Expenditure on charitable activities in¢ludes all costs incurred by a charity in undertaking activities that further
its charitable aims for the benefii of lis beneficiaries, including those support costs and c0515 relaliiig lo the
governance of the charity apportioned to charitable activities.
Other expenditure includes all expenditure ihal is neither relaled lo raising funds for the charity nor part of its
expenditure on charitable activities.
All costs are allocated lo expenditure categories reflecting ihe use of the resource. Direct costs attributable to a
single aaivity are allocated directly to that activity. Shared costs are apportioned between the activities they
contribule to on a reasonable, justifiable and consisteni basis.

The chariiy operates a defined coniribution pension scheme. Contributions payable to the charity's pension
