## **CLWB RYGBI DINBYCH - TRUSTEES REPORT 2022** With the end of the 2021/22 season, it's a time to reflect on the past 12-months and also to look forward to some of the exciting developments at the club. On the pitch, the past season has been difficult for our two national league sides recovering from the long absences due to the Covid Pandemic. However it is hoped that a positive pre-season and a return to a full set of league fixtures will see better player numbers and an improvement in results. A huge success over the last 12 months has been the re-emergence of our youth team, who started the season with just 12 players and finished with a squad of over 30 a testament to the commitment of the Coaches. A fantastic turnaround and great platform to build upon. We are also encouraged to see the increasing numbers in our Mini-Juniors section throughout the age groups, the future of our Club. The commitment by the Coaches and Referees to make this happen is appreciated. There have been significant projects undertaken on the grounds at Clwb Rygbi Dinbych: - The new floodlights on the training pitch have now been installed and ongoing maintenance work on the pitch has recently taken place. - The new entrance gate and dry stone walling to the entrance of the Club was completed and an unveiling ceremony was arranged with the family of Peter Minshull, who kindly made a donation towards the project, in memory of Pete. - We have appointed a Grounds-man to oversee the upkeep and maintenance of our pitches and made the decision to purchase our own ride-on mower to assist with this. We would like to thank Rod and Alan Waterfield at Bodfari Environmental, who previously maintained the grounds, for their hard work over the years. - The planting of fruit trees along the boundary of the car park with industrial estate and hedging on the road boundary has been undertaken as part of our commitment to the Environment projects which we are going to undertake. - Following a lengthy process, we anticipate that the construction of the new gym should be starting in the autumn. There have also been a number of developments around the documentation, policies and processes at Clwb Rygbi Dinbych. We are aware that various policies we have in the club are in need of updating and we are still awaiting from the WRU a list of policies that we as club should have in place. The Club continues to receive Legal advice in its objective to incorporate and matters are progressing albeit slowly. At the end of April, we held our first Club Annual Dinner and Presentation night since 2019 at the Oriel House. A fantastic evening with our Guest James Hook was enjoyed by over 150 members. Congratulations to all the winners and also to the Social Committee for organising such a great night. In May an army of volunteers assisted with the week- long car park stewarding duties at the 2022 Urdd Eisteddfod, which was held in Denbigh with 120,000 visiting the site. Clwb Rygbi Dinbych was asked to co-ordinate this which was a huge task having successfully completed similar duties for the National Eisteddfod years earlier. The level of support from the community to volunteer was overwhelming and we thank those key members who made this such a success. As pandemic restrictions were gradually relaxed the clubhouse has again began to be used by other organizations for meetings/events and for health and fitness activities and for a number of other community groups. A very successful Memorial Day was held in late August to show appreciation and respect for a number of long serving members whom we lost during the Covid pandemic.
