VoluDtttr5
We are now sufficiently well known in veterinary circles that we a￿ well subscribed for volunteers with many rett￿ing for
a scwnd visit We ask 8EI vcts to teach &8 well as to treat animals and this is having an ongoing bcneficial effe¢t on our staff
Tr2DSPOrt
Transport wntinu&s to be one of our bigges¢ ￿$ts. V¢hicl¢ maintenance and fi￿1 is very expensive and the bad roads in Th¢
Gambia cause many problems. W¢ are tying to reduce costs 2nd have done this by training our staff to ride motorbikes and
us¢ th¢m as much as possible for cau ou
Trustees
We have been lucky enough to have the sam¢ Trusiees ftir the life of this charity. Sadly M&K Murray has had to Stsrtd down
due to ill health. Thc years have taken their toll at￿ we need to recruit some youn8er Trustrrs.
Conclusion
Expenses ar¢ rising at an aiamiing rate and dOn￿lOn5 and subscriptions are reducin& We are eating into our reserves and we
are going to have to make some very tough decisions il we are to remain stabl& We need to improve our l¢gaGy publicity
and attract more supporters &8 the average donation has reduccd by aknut 50/0
We are making a positive impact on animal welfare and providing exrKll¢nt traintng for our staff and the students who visit
us from University and college but we ar¢ victims of our own success as the demands for our s¢rvi¢¢s outstrip our income.
Thc ahead is going to require very care￿1 budgeting
