Due to the continued concerns of safety regarding the indoor f face to face community gatherings in a pandemic, majority of the indoor activities stayed online through out the year.
The Association ran 2 online sessions a week, on Wednesdays and on Sunday.
The Wednesday sessions were devoted to Tai Chi exercise tutored by Dr Xie Yuhong. The sessions were taught via Zoom sessions with participating members log in to join the session.
The Sunday sessions included the Ladies Choir tuition and practice, children’s art and craft online. We also had a very popular dance group, learning traditional Chinese dance on some of these Sunday online sessions.
Several outings were organized, but strictly being gathering outdoors to reduce the risk of catching and spreading the Covid-19. There were visit to a petting farm, to a sunflower farm and the choir producing of a video near the Orwell Bridge and the Abbey in Bury St Edmunds.
We continued to engage with the Suffolk County Council community engagement team to cascading all public heath information including top up vaccination advice deep into the community.
These online and face to face activities kept the spirits up for the members in the community which was vital for their mental health and wellbeing.
The trustees would like to thank all the members and the staff/volunteers who worked to keep the community sound and safe and in good shape.
