Its Trust Deed was adopted in July 2002 and was registered with the Charity Commission on 13.03.2003 with registration number 1096496. ## **Recruitment and Appointment of Trustees** The recruitment and appointment of trustees is carried out in accordance with the charity’s constitution and with the consent of existing trustees. Suitable candidates are expected to demonstrate the ability to contribute effectively to the charity’s objectives while being sensitive to the needs and demands of the organisation. Trustees are selected from diverse backgrounds that reflect the communities we serve. This ensures that the board brings a wide range of skills and perspectives, while also representing the diversity of the charity’s beneficiaries. ## **Trustees’ Induction and Training** New trustees receive a full briefing from existing trustees on the charity’s aims, activities, and operations. They are referred to the guidance for new trustees published by the Charity Commission and are encouraged to read the charity’s constitution, raising any questions with current trustees. Trustees are expected to be familiar with the charity’s work and to participate regularly in events and services. In line with ELS’s emphasis on staff and volunteer development, trustees are also supported to attend training courses that enhance their ability to contribute effectively to the organisation. ## **Risk Management** The trustees regularly review the major risks to which the charity is exposed, particularly those relating to governance, finance, operations, safeguarding, and reputation. They review management accounts regularly, approve budgets, and monitor expenditure against planned activity. Independent scrutiny is carried out annually in line with the requirements of the Charity Commission. ELS remains committed to ensuring that funds are spent responsibly, transparently, and in direct alignment with our charitable objectives. We actively seek to maximise the impact of every donation and grant received, while maintaining robust internal controls to safeguard the charity’s assets. ## **Public Benefit** The trustees confirm that, in exercising their powers and duties, they have complied with their statutory responsibility to have due regard to the guidance on public benefit published by the Charity Commission. ELS delivers public benefit by supporting individuals and families spiritually, physically and emotionally. ## **Objects of the Charity, principal activities and organisation of our work Our Belief** - To worship Almighty God in accordance with the teachings of the lord Jesus Christ and the - holy spirit - To administer spiritual healing - To promote excellence in the practice of the Christian religions - To engage in such activities that may promote or enhance national economy - To engage evangelism through voice preaching in churches, public places, radio, television - and through publications. ## **Activities of the charity for the year ended 31 March 2025** - The youths retreat to Yorkshire - Black pool trip in Easter 2025 - • Christmas feast for the homeless - Children Anniversary June 2025 - Church 29th Anniversary 7 ## **Eternal Life Sanctuary For The Year Ended 31st March, 2025 Independent Examiner's Report To the Trustees** I report on the accounts for the year ended 31st March, 2025 set out on pages 8 to 9 Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year (under Section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act)) and that an independent examination is required. The charity's gross income does not exceed £250,000 and I am qualified to undertake the examination by being a qualified member of ACCA. It is my responsibility to: examine the accounts under Section 145 of the 2011 Act to follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commission (under Section l45(5)(b) of the 2011 Act); and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. Basis of the independent examiner's report My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair view ' and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statements below. Independent examiner's statement In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention: 1) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that, in any material respect, the requirements which accord with the accounting records and to comply with the accounting requirements of the 2011 Act have not been met; or 2) to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
