Tru$teo3 The Iruslees named on page 1 served for the periods shchvn. Structure, govérnan¢• and management The charity is governed by a Trust Deed and Supplementary Deed. The Trustees are elected in accordance with the governing documents. The day lo day management of the charity is, in the Tnain. undertaken by the Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary. obj￿ and activities The charity's object is to promote animal health and Welfa￿ mainly on the island of Cyprus by providing and maintaining a rescue home and other facilities for the care of unwanted animals and relieving the suffering of animals in need of care. The charity looks after sick and ill-trealed animals and both conducts and promotes research. The charity also seeks to advance the edU￿tIOn of the public and ¢onlinues lo raise funds and invite contributions. Public benefit The Trustees confimi that they have complred wr(h their duty under section 4 of the Charities Act 201110 have due regard to the Charity Commission's general guidance to charities on public benefit. Risk Management The Iruslees have idenlrfied and reviewed the major risk5 to which the charity is exposed and confirm that they have established systems or prcKedures to manage and mitigate those risks Achievements and performance 2020 has proved lo be a very drfficull year for all due lo the pandemic. It severely dried up supporters and any funding of the animal home in Paphos. The shelter was already devasted by the adveT5e weather (heavy rains and flooding lo the area). Whatever had been raised by ARC helped the shelter towards the repairing of the home, medical supplies, waler rates, phone bills and the ever increasing food bills. Financial Review During Ihe year the charity had incoming resources of £29,804 against which there were outgoings of £40,965. This gave a nel movement in funds of £11,161 which has reduced the funds brought forward giving funds a5 at 31 December 2020 of £12,165. Statement of responsibllltles of the Board The Charities Act requires the Board lo prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the Society and of the surplus or deficit of the charity for that period. Accounting Policies Accounting convention The financial slalements have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with the Statement of Recommended Practice, Accounting and Reporbn9 by Charities, issued in 2005. Basis of prgparalion The financial sialemenls have been prepared in accordance with the Slalement of Recommended Practice.. Accounting and Reporting by Charities preparing their Accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard application in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 issued on 16th July 2014. as amended on 2nd February 2016-, and the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 and the UK Generally Accepted Accounting Practice as it applies from 1st January 201 S. There aTe no material uncertainties regarding the Charity's ability to continue its activities for the foreseeable future. The Charity meets the definition of a public benefit enlty under FRS 102. Assets and liabilities are initially recognised al historical cost or transaction value unless otherwise staled in the relevant accounting policy notes. Incoming resources Donations are recognised in the Year in which the Chartty is entitted to and certain of receipt and the amount can be Measured with reasonable certainty_ Income is only deferred when the charity has to fulfil conditions before becoming enlided lo it or where the donor has specrfied that the income is to be expended in the future year. Gtft-Aid is added lo the value of the donation to which rt relates. Donated sefvices are recognised as income and expenditure in the financial slalemenls when organisations or individuals offer their services and support pro bono. The value of these donated services to the Trust is considered to be equal lo market value which would be paid were the service formally procured. This includes services paid for by otherTrusls. Investment income is accounted for on a receivable basis. Resources expended Expenditure is included on an accruals basis. Liabilities are recognised as soon as there is a legal or conslruclive obligation committing the charity to pay out resources. Charitable activities (x)mprise those costs directly attributable lo the fu￿lMent of the charitable objects. Governance costs Support costs have been allocated be￿een govemance costs and other support costs. Governance costs comprise all costs involving the public accountability of the charity and costs related lo slatulory requiremefits.
