Our ultimate goal is to reach out with our King’s love to the oppressed in their struggles and build a BRIDGE from the church to the afflicted.
Aim & Purpose
Bridge of Love Trust (BOL) is a non-profit organisation and a registered UK Charity (Charity No: 1096302). Rev G I Ebenezer is the chairman of BOL.
The Trust was started with the purpose of protecting and supporting the oppressed in society, especially widows and orphans. The trustees are involved in various welfare initiatives to safeguard the interests of the poor, who are often the victims of civil war in Sri Lanka.

Bridge of Love confines itself to community development in the Northern and Eastern provinces of Sri Lanka and the tribal areas in Tamil Nadu, South India. Over the past fourteen and a half years we have been financially supporting registered local organisations and churches who work among the oppressed, vulnerable & abandoned, poor & needy, widows, orphans, child labour victims, the underprivileged, young offenders, the persecuted and war victims in Sri Lanka and India.
We provide monthly financial support to the vast majority of our projects. In addition to our regular financial support, we identify and assess where there is a specific need, and approach individuals & organisations for aid and financial help. We then channel these funds to trustworthy organisations to meet their needs. We try our best to ensure that the organisations we support are genuine.
We help people regardless of race or religion.

Fundraisin g
We raise money for our causes through Standing Orders, Gift Aid/ donations from our friends and family / Church members. We do not raise money from the public. Occasionally, friends raise money (from their friends and family members) for a specific Charity cause through the Stewardship online fundraising platform.
We do not use any “commercial participator” or “professional fund-raiser” and we do not have any fundraising agreement with anyone. Therefore, the following does not apply to us in relations to ‘Compliance with the Fundraising Regulator’s voluntary regulation scheme’.

Educational Projects
In 2022, we donated more than £3,250 towards educational programmes in Batticaloa, Mullaitivu, Colombo and Cheyyar. Rev Karunanithi, Sis Malini, Rev Kathireson and Rev Samraj coordinated these projects for Bridge of Love.
Due to the closest local government school being situated 4 Km away, most kids in two remote villages in Cheyyar, Tamil Nadu had to walk to school. In December 2022, we donated bicycles worth £750 to 10 poor children who live in this area. Mr. Robert Arokisamy is the main sponsor and coordinator of this project.
Income Generating, Water Supply Projects
In 2022, we donated more than £325 to poor widows to start small businesses in Batticaloa, and Rev Karunanithi coordinated this project. Bro Jesuthasan donated £850 for the construction of a tube well in the Vavuniya and coordinated this project as well.

In August 2022, on his visit to Cheyyar, Mr. Robert Arokisamy donated 5 sewing machines worth £650 to 5 poor widows who live in this area. He is the main sponsor and coordinator of this project.
Poor, Sick & Needy and Other

We have been providing financial support to 10 underprivileged pastors in Batticaloa for more than fifteen years. In 2022, we donated more than £750 for this project and Rev Karunanithi is our local project coordinator.

Mr. Luke Mahendra, Treasurer of Bridge of Love (BOL), is the coordinator and the sponsor of Canaan poor pastors and he donated more than £1,500 in 2022.

We donated more than £800 for the poor, sick & needy in Eravur, Batticaloa. Rev Karunanithi is our local project coordinator.

Rev Karunanithi coordinated economic relief projects worth more than £85 in Batticaloa.

Bro Stephen coordinated economic relief projects worth more than £50 for the poor & needy in Trichy, India.

We donated more than £240 for the poor, sick & needy in Mullaitivu. Sis Malini is our local project coordinator.

We donated more than £250 for disabled/ handicapped women in Mullaitivu. Sis Malini is our local project coordinator.

We donated more than £100 for a disabled/ handicapped woman in Trincomalee. Sis Malini is our local project coordinator.

We donated more than £70 for a disabled/ handicapped man in Batticaloa. Rev Karunanithi is our local project coordinator.

We donated more than £370 for a disabled/ handicapped in Trichy, Tamil Nadu.

We donated more than £325 for victims of the domestic abuse in Mullaitivu. Sis Malini is our local project coordinator.

In March 2022, we provided financial assistance worth £220 for urgent house renovation work to 3 poor young women living in houses without doors in Cheyyar. Rev Samraj is our local project coordinator.
In total, we sent more than £4,750 for these projects.

Christmas Gifts
In December 2022, we sent more than £2,150 worth of Christmas presents to the poor & needy in Batticaloa, Pita Kotte, Dehiwela and Trichy. Rev Karunanithi, Rev Kathireson and Br Stephen coordinated these projects for Bridge of Love. Jonathan & Lydia Joseph initiated and coordinated a £150 worth Homeless Christmas project, providing hygiene essentials, bedding and lunch packets to the homeless people living in the streets /roadside in the suburbs of Chennai.

INDEPENDENT EWINERgS REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES/ MEMBERS OF BRIDGE OF LOVE TRUST We report on the Accounts of the Trust for the year ended 31 December 2022, which are set out on pages I to 4. RESPONSIBILITIES AND BASIS OF REPORT As the Charity's Trusfres you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordancc with thc rcquircments of thc Charitics Act 2011 {"th¢ Act"). We report in respect of our examination of the Trust's accounts ¢arri¢d out under section 145 ot-the 2011 Act and in carrying out our examination, we have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commi98ion under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
