In planning our activities for the year, we kept in mind the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit at our trustee meetings.

The main activities are as follows: organising fundraising events and;

organising social events for parents and carers to come together to provide support and share advice.

These activities advance the education of the pupils in the school by donating the funds raised from all fundraising activities to the school to provide extra facilities and equipment for the pupils.

Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)

Social events allow volunteer parents and teachers to work together to make the school a better environment for the pupils to learn.

Section D Achievements and performance

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year

Fundraising events

Members organised three fundraising events held at the school during the year to raise money to be donated to the school which helped to provide extra facilities and equipment for the pupils. A number of parents, grandparents, carers and school staff all volunteered to help run the fundraising events on the day.

A Christmas fundraising event was held at the school on 2[nd] December 2023 which raised funds of £338, an Easter fundraising event was held at the school on 23[rd] March 2024 which raised funds of £497, and a summer fundraising event was held at the school on 6[th] July 2024 which raised funds of £233.

Extras:

Members organised an online Christmas raffle which raised funds of £603 and an online virtual duck race which raised funds of £458.

A small number of volunteers also provided a bag packing service at Sainsbury’s on 9[th] December 2023 where customers were offered help to pack their shopping bags in exchange for a donation to Friends of Delamere.

A local business provided a Christmas tree collection service, and a local drama school took donations in a charity collection box at their Christmas performance show. The proceeds from both were donated to the Friends of Delamere.

During the year, the charity received a large donation of £235,000 from a private donor. This was donated to the school to help fund the extension for a new art and food tech room for the pupils to use.

Volunteers held a social event each half term called Chatty Tuesdays where parents, carers and grandparents were all invited to meet up at the school for 2 hours during the morning for a chat and refreshments and to offer peer to peer support.
