## **POTTERS HOUSE CHRISTIAN CENTRE SOUTHEND ON SEA**

## Trustees’ Annual Report

## **For the Year Ended 31 March 2024**

## **Summary of main activities in relation to these objects**

The Charity exists to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ and to teach people the bible. All our activities reflect these core goals. The Church arranges or participates in

a number of activities to this end, namely Bible Conferences, Marriage Seminars, Men’s Discipleships, Revival Meetings with visiting preachers, Tent Crusades (home and abroad).

## **Achievements and performance**

The church has continued to steadily grow. It has been particularly encouraging to see people in the church share a vision for the core tenets of our faith and indeed Fellowship, discipleship, church planting and evangelism. The church has a strong and stable foundation which I confidently expect will continue to grow with the blessing of God. Our main achievement this period was the successful planting of a new church in an area of Southend on Sea that has released in the assembly the reality of what we are. I am sure other men and women in the church will also respond to the call of Pastoral ministry in the Lords harvest fields.

## **Financial review**

## **Policy on reserves**

Due to the charity being a small organisation and its future expenses being predictable in nature the trustees have decided that a minimum reserve of £nil will be sufficient at any one time.

At 31 March 2024 the charity had reserves of £nil

## **Declaration**

The trustees declare that they have approved the trustees’ report above. Signed on behalf of the charity’s trustees

## **INDEPENDENT EXAMINER’S REPORT ON THE ACCOUNTS**

# **To the Trustees of**

# **Potters House Christian Centre Southend on Sea For the Year Ended 31 March 2024**

**Charity number 1096264**

**Set out on Pages 4 and 5**

## **Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner**

The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity’s trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year (under section 43(2) of the Charities Act 1993 (the 1993 Act) and that an independent examination is needed.

It is my responsibility to:

- Examine the accounts under section 43 of the 1993 Act;

- to follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 43(7)(b) of the 1993 Act); and

- to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.

## **Basis of independent examiner’s statement**

My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such

matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a ‘true and fair’ view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.

## **Independent examiner’s statement**

In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:

1. Which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in, any material respect, the trustees have not met the requirements:

   - to keep accounting records in accordance with section 41 of the 1993 Act; and

   - to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the 1993 Act; or

2. to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
