**Appointment of Trustees:** Trustees are appointed by a vote of the membership. 

**Charity objects:** The Charity’s objects are (1) To advance and maintain the Christian Religion through the production and distribution of Christian literature, the provision of Christian instruction and the provision of buildings and equipment for Christian instruction and worship; (2) The relief of the sick, infirm and poor living in undeveloped countries either generally or individually through the provision of grants, goods or services. 

## **— B) Report of Activities and progress for the period 01/10/2019 30/09/2020** 

## **Part 1 – Objectives for the period** 

## **The objectives for the year ahead were** 

## **a. Publishing** 

- **i.** to continue the process of marketing and distributing the titles already published; 

- **ii.** to reprint any titles with low stocks 

## **b. Retail** 

- **i.** to continue to maintain the retail side of the company including producing a new catalogue to tie in with the website. 

## **b. Ministry** 

- **i.** to continue the visits to Uganda to provide teaching to pastors and church members; 

- **ii.** to continue to provide funding for church buildings and other projects in Uganda. 

- **iii.** To continue to work with Zerubbabel Ministries, building up a team of young people and supporting them through education and in their personal lives. 



## **Part 2 – Strategy** 

- **i.** The work of distribution of published books was to continue to be done through bookshops. 

- **ii.** The staff would continue to seek to find ways to increase retail sales especially by relaunching the retail catalogue. 

- **iii.** The staff would make visits to Uganda to give teaching and financial help. 

- **iv.** The directors would be open to further ways to alleviate hardship etc. in Uganda. 

## **Part 3 – Activities, progress and results** 

## **a) Publishing: Distribution of books** 

- **i. Distribution.** Distribution through CLC continues to be effective. 

- **ii. Marketing.** Our books being well established no new marketing was undertaken. 

**By the end of the year, 19,571 (previous: 27,636 32,677, 27,396 , 44,936, 55,630) items had been sold. Payments for these would amount to (previous £15,679 £18,514, £19,808, £25,643, £27,337) when invoices had been paid.** 

## **b) Publications** 

No new books were published but _Hungry For More of Jesus, Pilgrim’s Progress_ and _The Calvary Road_ were reprinted. 

## **d) RHP Ministries** 

Work continued with Vision Uganda. £1380 was given to help with church construction etc. The Covid-19 pandemic reduced the number of visits that were made but two of the Directors were able to go out doing conferences and working with the young people in Zerubbabel Ministries. 

## **e) Tabernacle Books** 

Tabernacle Books continued to trade and build up its customer base. 

## **f) The Source** 

The new printed catalogue had some success and added people to the customer base. 

Work was begun on a new printed catalogue to be distributed autumn/winter 2020 with a higher quality print production. 

## **g) Staff** 

Our shop Manager/Office Manager continued to work for us until August when her contract was terminated. 

## **Part 4 – The future** 



**Rickfords Hill Publishing** continues to meet an important need in providing excellent Christian literature at affordable prices and providing assistance to needy Christians in Africa. This should continue. 

## **a) Reprinting** 

Work should continue on reprinting titles of which we have low stocks. These include some of the Classics. We would look into publishing further books as new ideas for them emerged. 

## **b) Tabernacle Books** 

Work should continue to make the shop known to local Christians. 

## **c) Uganda** 

The work in Uganda should expand as opportunities arise. 

## **d) The Source** 

Work should continue on the new catalogue. 

**Since Rickfords Hill Publishing Ltd. is a charitable company with a gross income of less than £90,000, an independent examination of accounts was arranged.**

I report to the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts of the
Company for Ihe year ended 3010912020.
Responsibilities and
basis of report
As the charity's trustees of the Company (who are also the directors of the
ompany for the purposes of company law), you are responsible for the
preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the
Companies Act 20CI8 (Yhe 2006 AL*).
Having satisfied myseff that the accounts of the Company are not required
to be audited for this year under Part 16 of the 2006 Act and are eligible for
independent examinalion, I report in respect of my examination of your
charity s accounts as carried out under section 145 of the Charities Act 2011
I'the 2011 Acl"). In carying out my examination, I have followed the
Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 145(5}{b) of the
2011 Act.
