Trustees Annual Report for year ending 31/12/2021 AGM held Wednesday 20[th] October 2021
Summary of discussions:
Because of an ever increasing demand to rehabilitate and re-home dogs it was agreed that our new kennels would be built in Lancing to help get them ready for their forever homes.
This has been a great success in the last year. Unwanted or unclaimed stray dogs that are not microchipped, are now taken in at Paws Kennels in Lancing. Denise Sandell is a natural with rehabilitating the dogs and is doing a wonderful job.
Stray cats and unwanted animals such as Guinea pigs and Rabbits continue to arrive at Paws in Findon every week. Also so many cats are brought in to us when their owners die, or when owners have to leave their homes to go into hospices or care homes.

Vet bills are our biggest outlay.

Animal food is a close second.

Maintenance and upkeep is never ending.
Every week we also have the regular stream of injured wildlife, birds, hedgehogs, etc that we deliver to the Brent Lodge Wildlife Hospital in Sidlesham nr/Chichester that is a 60 mile round trip for each rescue.
The healthy animals are found good homes, but any elderly, or blind or with health or medical problems will live out their lives in peace and quiet here at the Sanctuary. This is also a cost to the Sanctuary for regular medication and Vet bills.
We are still well supported by a team of regular reliable Volunteers who work so hard every week. Unfortunately since Corona virus appeared, we have had a lot of volunteers leave us or been off sick for long periods, this has been a very tough time on all of us.
Any other business
The sad passing of both Edna and Gladys.
We have also continued to supported some of our friends and Animal Charities that have been struggling to pay their vet and food bills. We will to continue to make sure all animals are well cared for.
The usual stream of enquiries from local collages for students doing work experience, which then in turn means someone has to complete daily records for each of the students, this can be time consuming, but very rewarding.
