Section D Achievements and performance Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year As a church we recognise the importance of community and have become more and more aware of the number of lonely and isolated people in Newquay. As a result we host a once a month Sunday morning event at our local orchard and barlrestaurant where people are invited to get together simply for a coffee and chat. We have continued working with Twos Company which is a project designed to reach the elderly and isolated in their homes. All volunteers are trained, DBS checked and given safeguarding training to simply have a cup of tea and a chat, either by a physical visit or a phone call once a week. We have been involved in the Cornwall Christmas Box appeal and hosted a Christmas family event at a local barlrestaurant which included children's crafts, quiz and band and carols. We also ran an Easter Trail event at our local orchard. We have given money to local and global charities including relief for the risis in the Middle-East, poverty in Nepal, and the Pot Noodle ministry and The Foodbank in Newquay. We have provided practical care and support for parents with newborns, for family emergencies, and for people suffering with physical and mental health conditions. We also ran several courses including The Marriage Course, The Marriage Preparation Course, and The Alpha Course. We have assisted many people in learning more about Jesus, the Bible, and the Christian faith, and given people practical tools for flourishing in family life. TAR

Section E Financial review We have a reserve of £2000 which we are continuing to review alongside our updated reserves policy. We do not have any grants or owe any money to a third party. We currently hold both restricted funds and designated funds in the hope we will one day own our own building. Brief statement of the charity's policy on reserves Details of any funds materially in deficit Further financial review detsils (Optional infomiation) The previous issues with our landlord not providing invoices within the correct financial year has now been fully resolved. In preparing the 2024 accounts it came to light that over the months of Dec'23-April'24 (tax year 23-24) there was an issue with the figures that had been entered into Sage Payroll. In trying to move the year on and realising Payroll had previously been set up incorrectly the figures were cleared for these months and re-entered incorrectly which meant they did not match what had already been paid from the bank account, this resulted in a difference of £296.28 extra having been physically paid compared to what was put through Payroll. Having discussed this together, considering all implications, and also with outside advice we have made a unanimous decision not to ask Declan to repay this money, the main reason being that Declan queried an increase in his wage in March'24 and we confirmed that the amount was correct. Furthermore, Declan is not employed as a trustee and also the issue occurred within the previous tax year 23-24. As a trust we made the mistake and feel it unfair to cause Declan any financial stress or worry in trying to find the funds to repay it. Declan has not been involved in any of these discussions and decisions as this would clearly be a major conflict of interest. Payroll has since been working correctly and do not foresee any further issues. You may choose to include additional information, where relevant about: the charity's principal sources of funds (including any fundraising)., how expenditure has supported the key objectives of the charity., investment policy and objectives including any ethical investment policy adopted.
