The role of Treasurer, on the other hand, is filled on a volunteer basis rather than through election. The individual taking on this critical position is automatically made a Trustee of the charity, reflecting the importance and responsibility of managing the charity’s financial matters. This process ensures that the PTA is guided by a committed and capable team, working together to support Ravenstone Primary School effectively.

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
Achievements and performance
As in previous years, Friends of Ravenstone successfully organized two major events that became the cornerstone of our fundraising efforts: Winter Fair "Ravensnow" and Summer Fair "Ravenstock". The success of both fairs was made possible by the incredible dedication of volunteers who gave their time and effort to create unforgettable experiences for everyone. The profit from both fairs is also the main source of funding for Friends of Ravenstone, enabling the continuation of annual commitments as well as other activities throughout the year.
We have introduced a new tea towel project, which has been very popular within the community. The project involves collaboration between teachers, students, and parents.
Expenditures and Contributions
This year, funds raised were used to support several impactful projects:
-
e pad for classrooms: The purchase of 17 new iPads will support the development of teachers’ skills in connecting devices to classroom screens and navigating slides directly from the iPad, enabling more dynamic and interactive teaching. The use of iPads also increases children’s engagement through visual representations in maths, helping to address misunderstandings and misconceptions. In addition, this investment provides more opportunities to capture significant achievements and classroom activities to share in the weekly newsletter and across our social media platforms.
-
e Mental health therapy: Friends of Ravenstone received a very generous donation from parents to support mental health therapy. This provision significantly improves student wellbeing by reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression, boosting academic performance, and strengthening emotional resilience. Accessible on-site support fosters a positive school climate, reduces behavioural issues, and increases attendance.
-
e MC Grammar: Friends of Ravenstone funded the school to invite MC Grammar for an afternoon visit. The children had the opportunity to improve their spelling skills through his songs, bringing joy to pupils, teachers, and parents alike.

Achievements and performance However, Friends of Ravenstone has stopped funding the music provision, which had been in place for several years, as it was only beneficial to a small group of students.
Rewarding expected behaviours
e Extracurricular Activities: Friends of Ravenstone financed lunchtime play activities, including sports and arts, broadening the children’s experiences outside the classroom.
¢ Books for the Library and Home Reading: Recognizing the vital importance of books, we provided additional funding for the school to expand its library collection and offer children more options for reading both in school and at home.
Ongoing Initiatives
Our Pre-Loved Uniform Sales continued to run successfully, with at least one sale held each term. These events have become increasingly popular, offering families an affordable option while promoting sustainability by reducing waste and reusing clothing— benefiting both the community and the environment. Friends of Ravenstone also supports the purchase of learning materials for classrooms and provides fresh fruit as healthy snacks for KS2 pupils. Contributions towards the costs of House parties and Happy Fridays have also become a regular part of its support. Community and Engagement The Friends of Ravenstone team, alongside countless volunteers, worked tirelessly throughout the year to organize a variety of engaging events. Highlights included cake sales, a mini disco, quiz evenings, International afternoon, and many others. For the second time, we also participated in the London Mini Marathon, an exciting and inclusive event that allowed children to run and raise money directly for the school. The day was filled with energy, joy, and pride as the young runners contributed to their community in a meaningful way.
