PRAYERHOUSE MINISTRIES TRUSTEES' ANNUAL REPORT 4 April 2022 to 31 March 2023
The trustees of Prayer House Ministries are pleased to present their annual report, together with the financial statements of the charity, for the year ended 31 March 2023. The trustees who served during the year and up to date (and who are also directors under company law, under the Companies Act 1985), were as follows:-
Mr Joseph Aghomi (Chairman/Pastor)

Responsibilities of the Trustees
Company law requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year end which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity, as at the balance sheet date, and of its incoming resources including income and expenditure.
In preparing those financial statements, the trustees followed best practice and:-
-
e selected suitable accounting policies, applying them consistently;
-
e made judgments and estimates that were reasonable and prudent;
-
e stated whether applicable accounting standards had been followed, which were subject to any material departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements; and
-
e prepared the financial statements on an ongoing concern basis, unless it felt it was inappropriate to assume that the charity will continue on that basis.
The trustees were responsible for keeping accounting records which disclosed, with reasonable accuracy at any time, the financial position of the charity enabling them to ensure that the financial statements complied with the Companies Act 1985.
The trustees were also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and, as a result, taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
A risk assessment officer was appointed by the charity to review health and safety matters.
A safeguarding officer was also appointed by the charity to review safeguarding matters.

- Mission Statement of Prayer House Ministries
PHM's mission statement is:-
4.
The power of the Holy Spirit to minister the word of God, including all types of prayer: to comfort, to exalt and to edify. (1 Corinthians 14:3 — But the one who prophesies speaks unto men for strengthening, encouraging and comfort.)
Our Vision
|
Using the grace of God in prayers to establish a Church for all men and a Church of excellence in love.
5. Objectives of the Chari
The objectives of the charity are:-
-
(i) the advancement of the Christian faith worldwide; and
-
(ii) the relief of poverty.
To achieve the above objectives, the charity exercised the following:-
-
(i) | Engaged in running Sunday services from its church worship address at the Forum @ Greenwich, Trafalgar Road, London SE10 9EQ, which is in the London Borough of Greenwich;
-
(ii) | Organised crusades;
-
(iii) |Evangelised on a regular basis;
-
(iv) Held prayer meetings and Bible studies;
-
(v) Organised youth activities in order to help steer the youth away from crime and difficult situations, reaching them with the word of God.
-
(vi) Opened their doors wide open to anyone in need of counselling on any particular matter or issue.
However, in order to enable the charity to carry out its objectives effectively, we are actively looking for our own church building.
6. Organisational Structure
-
e Anelected board of at least five members administered the charity.
-
e The board met four times a year, as a minimum, and also had discussions after church services on Sundays.
-
e Pastor Joseph Aghomi ("Pastor Joe") was appointed by the board to manage the spiritual and day-to-day operations of the charity.
-
e There were volunteers assisting Pastor Joe in the administration and other areas where support was needed in managing the charity.

8. Risk Review
The trustees conducted their own review of the major risks to which the charity could be exposed and systems were established to minimise those risks. Internal procedures were also established and regularly reviewed to ensure compliance at all times to overcome financial scams.
- COVID-19 Response and impact
Due to the global pandemic of COVID-19 throughout 2020 and beyond, as instructed by the UK government, lockdown was observed by PHM and all of its UK branches, resulting in the branches overseas also being subject to lockdown.
Home visits ceased and pastoral care was provided to both members and non-members of PHM by telephone on a daily basis. Church ministration continued via a television channel to support both members and non-members spiritually during the pandemic. As a church, PHM returned to its church worship address in Greenwich in May 2021. Despite almost three years since the onset of the pandemic, the impact is still being felt up to 2023.
A COVID-19 relief poverty programme was set up to support not only members of PHM but anyone in need who experienced financial hardship. Despite the difficulties that the COVID-19 pandemic presented and continues to present, noted below are the achievements of PHM during the year ended March 2023.
Achievements for the year ended 31 March 2023
-
(a) The workshop on spiritual empowerment which started 12 November 2017 was a great event and reoccurred during the year up to March 2023 and is still ongoing.
-
(b) Having gone on a Prayer Retreat to Ashburnham, Kent in the year 2020 (which was an exciting event full of revelation and knowledge that enlightened all those who attended), PHM still put into practice that which was revealed from Jehovah during the Prayer Retreat.
-
(c) The Children’s Ministry and Sunday School continued to improve because of contributions from our Youth Minister and volunteers, with Brother James Lescott Jr as Sunday School Teacher.
-
(d) TV programmes on Faith World TV (channel 588) are ongoing and exposed PHM immensely as a worldwide ministration through the areas of preaching, evangelism, teaching and the prophetic. During the live, weekly broadcasts, there was a prayer line for callers to ring Pastor Joe and the ministers for prayers and spiritual guidance, with follow-up calls made by Pastor Joe and the ministers after the live broadcasts had ended. These weekly broadcasts are still ongoing up to 2023.
-
(e) Live, weekly ministrations on YouTube are ongoing and enabled PHM to reach the world, ministering to those needing spiritual upliftment. The viewers and listeners were able to raise questions about any particular matter, with Pastor Joe taking time to minister to them, using the word of God.
3
-
(f) Radio programmes are ongoing and exposed PHM in the areas of evangelism. (g) The PHM branch in Newcastle which started in November 2016 is still ongoing. (h) The PHM branch in Manchester which started in December 2016 is still ongoing. (i) | The PHM branch which started in Abuja, Nigeria in January 2017 is still ongoing. (j) | The PHM branch in Luton which opened its doors in February 2017 is still ongoing. (k) | The PHM branch in Gloucester, which started in 2019, is still ongoing. (1) | Pastor Joe and the ministers continued to have daily outreach programmes throughout the year.
-
(m) The overseas’ ministry partnerships continued with our ministers in Kolkata, New Delhi, India; Nairobi, Kenya; Cape Town, South Africa; Lagos and Ibadan, Nigeria; Kingston, Jamaica; Manila, Philippines and Ontario, Canada.
-
(n) The Prison Ministry started by PHM in the year 2017 is still ongoing. (0) The Social Media section on the PHM Website (which includes YouTube, Soundcloud, X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook) had over 1,000 PHM ministrations, which continued to be used as a point of contact for reaching out to the world, to hear the Word of God for spiritual uplifting and guidance. New PHM ministrations are regularly being uploaded to the Social Media section.
-
(p) The PHM website also contained a Guest Page where visitors could leave comments or raise any topics, whereby they needed spiritual clarity and guidance. Using the Word of God, Pastor Joe and the ministers ministered to those in need of edification and this is still ongoing.
-
(q) Pastor Joe and the ministers regularly visited and prayed for those (i) suffering with illnesses (whether homebound or not), (ii) needing spiritual upliftment, and (iii) needing encouragement, plus any other needs, whether at home or in hospital.
-
(r) | PHM worked towards having their songs, which they were endowed to write, being made accessible to the world for both listening and enjoyment for spiritual uplifting. This is ongoing.
-
(s) Despite COVID-19 having had a huge impact on PHM's church activities and finances during the start of the pandemic and up-to-date in 2023, PHM were still able to propagate the unadulterated Gospel of Jesus Christ.
-
Global Reach
PHM began collecting data via WIX (a secure website) in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, of those visiting the PHM website. WIX is a website that records and provides a breakdown of activities from countries across the world, where individuals visit and engage with the material contained within the PHM website. Individuals are also able to send emails via the website, whereby Pastor Joe and the ministers respond accordingly, whether by return of email or by telephone.
The data collected for the period 1 April 2020 to 31 March 2021 showed that the countries who mostly visited the website were India, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Canada, and Germany, with the highest engagement from the United Kingdom followed by the United States of America (see Appendix 1).
4
For the period 1 April 2021 to 31 March 2022 during the COVID-19 recovery period, the countries who frequently visited the website were Canada, China, Germany, India, Kenya, Netherlands, Nigeria, South Africa, United Kingdom and the United States of America (see Appendix 2). This represented more activity from China and the Netherlands, demonstrating PHM’s global reach.
See Appendix 3 for the current data up to March 2023. Most of PHM's global reach were to countries such as the United Kingdom, the United States of America, South Africa, Canada, India, Nigeria, Kenya and Germany.
- Conclusion
To conclude, PHM has undertaken significant activity this last year, demonstrating its commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
