TRUSTEES’ ANNUAL REPORT
FOR PERIOD 6[TH] APRIL 2024 - 5[th] APRIL 2025
Annual funding was made available to the Pettman (National Junior) Academy, Royal Overseas League and various Departments of Opera North Ltd.
PETTMAN NATIONAL JUNIOR ACADEMY
The Eighteenth Annual Junior Academy Festival was held again in Akaroa. Many local people attend each year and are amazed by the success of the festival. The young students are so talented and determined to succeed.
ROYAL OVERSEAS LEAGUE
Once again, exceptional, upcoming, international young musicians took to the stage and delighted everyone present.
Lorna Zhang played violin and Madeleine Xiao played piano. These young ladies were selected from the World’s Edge Festival in New Zealand.
OPERA NORTH LIMITED
Zane Berghuis has been our 20[th] Pettman DARE fellow during the year. He came from Auckland, with a very musical background, and is currently studying with Leeds University personnel with the Learning and Engagement Team. Former fellows have gone on to forge successful careers in the arts and education sectors in the UK and New Zealand.
