The trustees pre¥enl their annual report and financial statements for the year ended 31 December 2025.
The accounts have been Prepared in accordance with the accounting poli¢ie$ sel out in note 110 the accounts and
comply wlh the charity's governing document, the Charities Act 2011 and Reporting by Charities,. Statement of
Recommended Practs"ce applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting
Standard for Smaller Enknlie5 published in July 2014.

The Charity's objects are lo raise and distribute fund8 for the following purposes.,
The advancement of education, thè reliel of povety and the asYv8n¢ement of religion with the primary object of
providing help to a variety of disadvantsged people in need of support, including the mentslly and physically
disabled and the aged, lo help them live a full and satisfying life in the community.
The charity carries out these objectives by making grants lo Charities in the sectors of advancement of education.
sports, the arts, and toward5 the relief of povety and advancement of religion throughout England and Wales. and
there has been no change in these policies during the year.
The trustees have paid due regard to guidance issued by Ihg Charity Commission in decidlng what a¢tivilies the
charity should undertake.
The trustees have continued to support a wide range of charities by awarding grants that benefit the disadv8nlaged
and promote the advan￿ment of the arts and education.

the fact that, having distributed ils reserves in full by way of grants, the charrty Is now to be wound up.

place lo mitigate exposure to the major risks.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the financial ststements of The Emesl Hecht Charflable Found8tion
(the charity) for the year ended 31 December 2025.

I report in respeGI of my examination gf the charity's financial 51alemenls carried out under section 145 of the
Charities Act 2011. In carrying out my examination I have followed the Directions given by the Charity Commission
under section 14515llbl of the Charib'es Act 2011.

Your attention is drawn to the faet that the charity has prepared the financial statements in accordance wilh the
relevant version of the Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to chariJes preparing Ihelr financial
slalemenls in accordance wth the Financial Reporting Standard applicable In the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS
1021 in preference to the Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of Recommended Practice issued on 1
April 2005 which is referred to in the extant regulations but has now been withdrawn. l understand that this has
been done in order for the financial statements to provide a true and fair view in 8ccordance with UK Generally
Ac¢epletJ A￿OUntr.ng Prartice.

The Ernest Hecht Charitable Foundation is an unincorporated charity, established by a charitable trust dated
18 November 2002, and with a principal address of 843 Finchley Road. London NW118NA.
1.1 B•si• of pr•paratlo
The financial statements have been prepared in accordance wlh the charity's goveming document, the
Charities Act 2011 and "Accounting and Repgrting by Charities.. Statement of Recommended Practlce
applicable to charities prepartng their accounts in a¢coidan¢e with the Financial Reporbng Standard
applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021" las amended for accounting periods commencing
from 1 January 20161. The ch8rity 18 8 Publi¢ Benefit Entity a$ defined by FRS 102.
The charity has taken advantage of the provislons In the SORP lor charities applying FFiS 102 Updats Bulletin
1 not to prepare a Stslement of Ca¥h Flews,
The financial gtalements have departed from the Cbarrties (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 only lo
the extent reqUI￿d lo provide a true and fair view. This departure has involved following the Statement of
Recommended Practice for Charities applying FRS 102 rather than the version of the Statement of
Recommended Practice which is reterred lo in the Regulations bul which has since been withdrawn.
The finanaal slalements are prepared in slerfing, which Is the functlonal currency of the charity. Monetsry
amounts in these finanaal statements are rounded to the nearest £.
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical c05t convention, Imodified to include the
revaluation of freehold properties and lo include investment properties and certain financial instrtrnents al fair
valuel. The principal a¢counling policie$ adopted are sèl out below.
1.2 Golng con¢•rn
The charity's remaining reserves were distributed in fvll by way of grants during December 2025 and the
charity is now lo be wound up. The financSal statements are therefore not prepared on a going concem basis.
1.3 Chorit•bl• funds
UnrestriGled funds are avallable for use at the dlscrellon of the trustees in furtherance of their charitable
objectives.
Rèstricted fijnds are subjèct to speafic conditions by donors or grantors as lo how they may be used. The
purposes and uses of the restricted fijnds are set out in the note5 to the financial statements.
Endowment funds are subject lo spectfic conditions by donors that the capital musl be maintsined by the
charity.
1.4 Income
Income is recognised vA)en the charity is legally enlilled lo it after any performance conditions have been met,
the 8mounl$ can be measured reliably, and it is probable that income will be received.
Cash donations are recognised on receipt. Other donations are recognlsed onGe the Ghority ha¥ been notified
of the donation, unless performance eondilions requiro d8f8rral of Ihe amount. Income tsK re¢¢verable in
relalitsn to d¢nalitsns received under GiftAid or deeds of covenant is recognistrd 8t the lime of the d¢nall)n.
Legacies are recognised on receipt or olhewse if the ch8rily has been notified of an impen¢Jing di8lribullon,
the amount is known, and recelpt is expected. If the amount 1$ not known, the legacy Is treate(J as a
conllngent asset.

1.6 Cash and cash equlvalents
Cash and cash equivalents include cash In hand, deposits hgld at call with banks, other short-lenn liquid
Investments with original maturities of three months or less, and bank overdrafts. Bank overdrafts are show
wrthin borrowings in current liabilities.

Basic financial assets, which include debtors and cash and bank balances, are initially measured at
transaction price induding transaction costs and are 5ubsequenly carried 8t amortlsed cost using the effective
interest method unless the arrangement constitutes a financing transaction, where the Iransaciion is
measufftd al the present value of the future ￿CeIpts di5¢0unted at a market rale of interest. Financial assets
classrfie<l as receivable within one year are not amortised.

Basic financial liabilities, including creditors and bank loans are initially reeognised al Iran3aclion price unless
the a￿angement consts'lules a financing transaction, where the debt instrument is measured at the present
value of the future payments discounted al a market rate of interest. Financial liabilities classified as payable
within one year are not amortised.

Trade Creditors are obligations to pay for goods or 5ervice3 Ihal have been acquir¢d in the ordinary ¢our$e ol

year or less. l* not, they are presented as non-eurrent liabilities. Trade credllors are recognised inltially at
transaction price and subsequently measured al amorti8ed cost using the effectsve Inleresl method.

1.7 Employee benefits
The cost of any unus•d holiday enlillemènt is recognis&d in the period in which the employee's serv￿e8 are
received.
Temiinalion benefits are recognised immediately as an expense when the charity is demonslrably committed
lo terniinate the employment of an employee or lo provide termination benefrts.

In the applicaliDn of the charity's accounting policies, the trustee8 are required lo make judgements, e$limal8s
and assumptions about the carrying amount of a55els and liabilities that are not readily appar¢nl from other
sources. The estimates and asstrcialed assumptions are based on historical experfence and other factors that
are considere(J to be relevant. Actual results may differ from these estimates.
The estimates and underfying assumptions are reviewed on an ongoing basis. Revisions lo accounting
estimaleg are recognlsed in the period in which thè èslimalè is revlsèd whère the revSsion affects enly that
period. or in the period of the revision and future periods where the revision affects both current and future
period$.
