Report of the Charity Trustees for Park Evangelical Church
The aim of the Church is to worship and serve God. We preach Jesus Christ as crucified, risen and Lord; seek to build up Christians in their knowledge and love of him; endeavour to make him known to others and try to share his love in practical ways.
During the first quarter of 2020, activities of the Church included Sunday services, Sunday school, Bible study and prayer, care work, evangelism, home groups, missionary support, holding services in care homes, a mums and toddlers group, youth clubs and social events to which friends and colleagues can be invited. With the onset of the Covid pandemic, our activities had to be curtailed significantly to keep in line with Government policies. Despite the constraints, and within Covid secure procedures, the Church continued to provide help and support, particularly to the vulnerable and elderly. The church has continued to support local organisations working with ex-offenders and addicts.
The Church employed a trainee Youth Worker on a two-year contract. Her input and support of the young people in the church was invaluable, particularly during lockdown.
Continued renovation work to the church building has been undertaken, subject to the requirements of the local planning officer.
The Church congregation has continued to be supportive of the local Food Bank in Stoke on Trent.
