Achievements and Perfomiance Main Achievements This was my first year acting as Chair of the Charity arKI rt was a year of signi￿nt growlh. Inwme grew from just over £48.000 to over £130,OIXJ and several new projects came on line. After a challenging process we finally secured a new building from WirTal Borough Council. The Cornmuntty Asset Transfer programme saw us sign a 25 year pepper-com lease on Pensby Library. We re-opened the building in May 2024 with a library provision, charity shop and coffee shop. We employed a Ukrainian refugee who we helped move from Ukrdine into a host farnily we sourced. Additionally. over 25 new volunteers joinèd the Charity. Thè coffee shop and charity shop will provide a long-tem inctsme to support thè provision ol our néw community library. Early signs a￿ incredible encouraging as the new library is fast beo)ming a real o)mmunity hub and income streams are ex￿eding expectations. The Counryl are pleased with progress and asking us to [￿SIder trking over another Library. Anoth8r ar8a of growth is a potential n8w work in Angola. Two UK based compani85 who work in Angola want to US8 som8 of their profits to set up community based projects within Angola and have selecled Pioneer as a FW)tential delivery partner. This is based on our decades of delivering work in developing worfd settings and is a true ￿mplIMent that reflects on the quality of our work and the ethos we bring lo internabonal development. We are sts"Il invests"gabng tx)ssibilib"es and negob"ab"ng wrth the two donors but this could be a significant area ol new work, with significant new income streams. Another new projed refie¢ts our desire to partner and supKM)rt small grassr(x)ts groups. The ENID project is aiming to support Wirral families who have children with additional needs and we are acting as a conduii for funds and pmiding some practical support. Our links to Ukraine have been strengthen by the employment of our new Chef in the coffee shop. During the ye8r we partnered with 8 Sheffield based charity who are delivering aid and support into Ukraine and held a SKK)nsored bike ride tsutside the Library. The event was a huge success and really capture the imagination of the public. Exercise bikes were set up and the public invited to help us cycle all the way to Ukraine and rnake donation5. Over £3.700 was raised along wrth donab.ons of aid. An Awards for All Lottery grant was secured at the end of the finanual year to SUPWMt a new partnership with Joumeymen. Joumeymen will be using The Hope Centre to run a new Men's Well Being project. the map)rity of the grant being spent in the nexl financial year. This significant year of growth h85 been made possible through having sound governar￿e. healthy reserve51£178.2001. partnership working and over 30 committed volunteers. We anb"upate 202&26 wll bring even further growth as we further develop community promsion at Pensby Library, consider opening another Library and h)pelully start setting up projects in Angola.
