Objectives
To enhance the development and resources available to the children of primary school age, by encouraging the parents to support the parents association by:

Offering appropriate education and care facilities, together with the right of parents to take responsibility for, and to become involved in, the activities such as events, ensuring the events offer opportunities for all children, whatever their race, culture, religion, gender, means or ability.

Encouraging the study of the needs of such children and their families and promoting public interest in and recognition of such needs.
The Parents Association of Grove Wood Primary School raise money by holding annual events for the school and wider community to attend. However, due to COVID, events were restricted and fundraising was limited to seasonal gift shops and selling tickets for Adventure Island, Southend Sealife and Adventure Golf.
Expenditure relating to these fundraisers are included in the expenditure total above.
Payments to the school in the year were for the annual donation to the text messaging service the school uses and to enable purchasing of additional IT equipment to meet additional demands due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Public Benefit
Throughout the year the charity has operated with due regard to its objectives as stated above, for the children of the primary school.
The charity has encouraged the involvement of the wider community in their events, such as the online Christmas Shopping evening, the selling of theatre tickets and the selling of Adventure Island, Southend Sealife and Adventure Golf tickets.

Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees of Parents Association of Grove Wood Primary School
I report to the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts of the Charity for the year ended 31 August 2021.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As trustees of the Charity, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Charity’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent Examiner's Statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe:
- 1) accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Act; or 2) the accounts do not accord with those records; or
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
