The trustses pr¢sent their r¢port with the financial statements of the charity for the year eThded 31 De¢embeT 2024. The
trustees have adopted the provisions of Accounting 2nd Reporting by Chatilies.. Statement of Recommended Practice
applicabl¢ to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Fin2ncial Reporttng Standard applicable in the
UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective l January 2019).
OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
Objectives and aims
The Ab¢rgla51yn Mountain Rescue Team was forn]¢d in 1996, making it ttLe youngest team in north Wales. Prior to the
forn]ation of the team an ad hoc Rescu¢ PostlTeam was in place at Aberglaslyn Hall Outdoor Education Centre. It was
decided that a tnore fornial rescue serYi¢e was needed and AMRT was born.
The Team is affiliated to tbe North Wale$ Mountain Rescue Association, Mountain Rescue England and Wales and
operates in North West Wales, an area of aPPfOXiUfdtely 750 squaTe kilometres.
These regions are populdr walking, scrambling and climbing areas and include the Nantlle Ridge, Moel Hebog and its
satellite peaks. Tremadog cliffs. Cnicht and the Moelwyn. The Team also covers the whole of th¢ Ll¢Jn Peninsula.
AMRT is made up entirely of unpaid volunteer5 of various backgrounds, who are on call 365 days a year 24 hours a day
and will attend an incident at any locatioll and in ally weather.
The Aberglaslyn Mountain Rescue Team is not only dedicated to rescuing mountaineer5, clinthers and walkers, but is
incr¢asingly called upon to assist the Police in searching for p¢opl¢ missing in an urbaij envirolln￿nt. The Team also
asslsts HM Coast Guard, the Ambulance Service, Fire and Rescue and Cave Rescue when required.
The Tean], like all the other Mountain Rescue Teams in Wales and England have to iely on their own members and
voluntary contributions for raising funds to support Team training, purchasing new equipment, n￿IntenanCe of the
vehicles, and day to day running of the Team.
The charity itself was registered with the Charity ConmliSSAon on 22 November 2002 and as such Ab¢rglaslyn Mountain
Rescue Team (AMRT) ig a registered charity that operates in Nortb W¢$t Wales and Snowdonia. We are staffed by
approximately 38 volunteers and are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Its rnain objective is to relieve the suffering and distress amongst indtviduals and groups endangered by accidents or
nattjral hazards and to provide adequate arrangements for the secure and ¢ffi¢ienl search and r¢$¢ue of anyone so
endangered.
AMRT does this by providing a search and rescue service, not just on the rnountaÈns but covering the whole of Nortb
West Wales, Ancluding urban and rural areas and along the coasts of North Wa]es. thereby providing a service to the
whole of th¢ ¢ommunity.
In providing this service we work Closely with all of the other emeT8¢ncy services, including PolKce, Arnbulance, Fir¢
Brigade, Coast Guard, RNLI, RAF Mountain Res¢u¢, Bri5tow Search and Rescue and the Air Ambulauce.

OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
Significant *¢tivities
Aberglaslyn MRT covers a larg¢ ar¢a of North West Wales and the Snowdonia National Park" approximately 750 square
kilometres. The Team provides Search & Rescue Services in areas sucb as the Lleyn Penillsula, Yr Eifl, Nanllle Ridge,
Moel Hebog, Cnicht and the Moelwyn. Tbere are also n￿lY popular climbillg areas, which include Tren￿dOg, Carr¢g
Hylldrem, Cwm SilY￿ and Craig y Llyn.
The AbeTglaslyn MRT area tends to attra¢t people wbo looking to get away from the more popul￿ and som¢tim¢s
overcrowded footpaths and crags of Northern Snowdonia.
The Team can be called out at any time of the Day or Night, to assist the Police in their emergeney response duties. Call
outs range from the obvious Climbing accidents and injur¢d or lost Nvalkers, to searches for children and th¢ elderly
missing ill Urban Areas. We ivork c105cly with our ncighbowing Tearns, Llanberis. South Snowdonia Rnd Aberdyfi,
are often called in to help the Search Dogs (SARDA Wales) if th¢y are in our atta, as they often need Navigators with
good local knowledge for the Dog IIandlers.
If available, Bristow Search and Rescue, based in Dinas Dinlle are called in to assist us from time to time, they are very
US¢fi￿ for searching areas and moving troops from the rendezvous to the incident SLte, so savtng a lot of time. They also
airlift the casualty to Hospi￿1, which is b¢tter for th¢ casualty and the Team's backs, as it takes at l¢ast a party of twelve
to carry a stretcher effici¢ntly for any length of time. ALI Call Outs start wilh a pag¢r rnessage from the Police to the
Team Leaders informing them of an incident and to phone Control for more inforrnation. The Team Leader will then
asLcrtain whetli¢r th¢ whole Tearn Theeds to bc called out or whetljer a few memb¢rt* who arc closc at hand ¢an deal with
it. Very oftcn thc firsl riports are sketchy and a lot of fact-tinding is n¢ed¢d before the Team is actually depliiyed but on
average we hav¢ 15 people attend a Call Out.

The trustees believe that they have complied with the duti¢s as sel out in Section 17(5) of the Charities Act 2011, that is
to have due regard to the public ben¥fit guidance publAshed by the Charity Cotnmi5sion.
Volunteers
As already mentioned, we are staffed by approximately 38 v()luriteers, who ensure that a fvlly staffed team is available to
respond all year round. We ensure that our volunteers are adequately pr¢par¢d for any eventuality through the provxsion
of regular trdining sessions.
The Team members train every Monday night at 7pm at various locations, and also once a month on a Sunday. The
Training is varied, and encompasses the training guideline5 set by the Mountsin Rescue Council of England and Wales.
We also use different venues for Training piwses, so that it presents a more rcalistic scellario. as we have no way
knoiving ￿lIat the next incident will entail.
Training includes at 1ca.gt onc 1st Aid, Navigation and ropework session p¢r month. All Team Members are encourag¢d
to help and run Training Sessions as thi8 benefits all. Whenever possible Tea￿ Mernbers train with other local Rcs¢ue
TeanL% including the Search Dogs, as this promotes good working relations and experience amongst the Teams.

Prineip&l funding sources
AberglaslJTh Mountain Rescue T¢¥4rn is funded almost ¢ntirely by voluntary contributions. some come by post from
people who w¢ hav¢ rescued or have been with the people that were r¢scued.
We also attend local shows wher¢ we have a raffle like stall with collection boxes. Car boot sales also raise money
quickly but are very time consuming. Local clubs sometimes ask us to come and give them a talk about our work and
exp¢riences. for which we receive a donation and we have collection boxes in the local shops and pubs provide us with a
steady supply of donations.
In addition we are also able to r¢c¢iv¢ donations via a number of different ways on our
