Chair Persons Re
ort
It has been a busy two years and the constant that has enabled this community
centre to be such a success is our manager Lucy Blalie, she is outstanding in all
that she has achieved. Without her dedication to keep driving an agenda of
improvement and building on the needs of our community we wouldn't be the
successful community centre we are today.
Can I thank the committee and the friends of the hall for their support over the
last two years. Those friends of the hall and the committee members who
helped deliver another successful and fun festival with over one thousand local
residents attending. Putting up gazebos, carrying African drums, Selling raffle
tickets, but by far the bouncy castle was the most popular attraction with our
volunteers v, Without our committee and friends we couldn't have delivered
our Father Christmas event or continued to run our happy and friendly over
55's coffee morning .
I would like to recognise Fran who been very supportive and flexible in her
work to support our well run hall. So much 50 that she now facilitates our well-
used stay and play toddler group.
Our community builder Stacie has developed a range of initiatives within the
hall and we also last summer delivered our first outreach program to a small
geographical area within Norden. Feedback from the community and agencies
attending was positive. Stacie has successfully funded new groups, equipment
and events. Unfortunately, the funding for Stacie's post comes to an end this
summer. I would like to say a big thank you to her for her commitment to our
hall and community and wish her well in the future.
The hall wouldn't be the hall it is today if we didn't recognise the value our
users bring making it a such a vibrant and diverse heart of the community.
Our established core users are the foundation on which we have been able to
build and develop additional services. I want to say a big thank you to all these
groups and services. I'm pleased to say that the CAB is now one of those core
services and Sarah is well-respected by users of our CAB hub and such a
welcome face on a Monday morning.
The focus for the hall over last two years has been the development of the
support hub, which has grown in strength and is now delivering an established
program of services. The managers report will outline those free services. We

have also been keen over this time to develop Health and wellbeing classes and
initiatives within the hall.
We have said goodbye to users over the last two years and welcomed many
new ones. It is sad to be saying goodbye to the Midwive5 who have been a
good friend to the hall but we are excited to welcome Home Start . And we
look forward to working with them and developing a range of new services and
volunteers.
The Hall for All is a building in the heart of Oakridge but its more than a
building it is the heart of Oakridge, and l am proud of what is being delivered
within these walls,
Thank you
