At the moment, the Chinese Association of Southampton (CAS) has 243 members, including 89 life members aged 70 and above, as well as 9 student members. 在聯誼所，我們現在有太極班，舞蹈班，功夫班，英文班，繪畫班，書法班，歌唱班 和 每月一次的生日會。聯誼所裡，會員也可以 玩乒乓球 和 一些遊戲。華協的中文電臺廣 播節目“同一天空下”每星期一 從下午6 點到晚上8 點 從義工家或Unity101 電臺室 準時播出。我們感謝川味园和上海灘中餐館 贊助廣播節目的遊戲獎品直到2023 年3 月 尾。 At the moment, at our Wednesday drop-in centre we have Taichi class, dancing class, Kungfu class, English class, painting class, Chinese calligraphy class, singing class and the monthly birthday celebration. At the drop-in centre, our members can also play table tennis and games. Our Chinese radio programme ‘Under The Same Sky’ is broadcast from the house of our broadcasting volunteers or from the Unity101 radio station, every Monday from 6pm to 8pm. We thank Szechuen Kitchen and Shanghai Bay Chinese Restaurant for sponsoring the game prizes of our radio programme till the end of March 2023. 華協於2022 年9 月6 日在JRC 環球自助餐館慶祝中秋節。300 餘人參加活動，一起喜迎中 秋佳節。華協以這樣大規模的形式慶祝中秋節，是對海外華人重視傳統文化的最好展示。 感謝協會委員，義工和支持者們的努力和貢獻。 CAS celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival on 6[th] September 2022. Over 300 people gathered there to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival. Such large scale celebration is the best demonstration of how overseas Chinese value their traditions. Special thanks to the committee members, volunteers and supporters of CAS for their efforts and contributions. 華協於2022 年12 月20 日和21 日慶祝聖誕節。20 日當天我們在南安普敦的白天鵝餐廳享 用了一頓豐盛的聖誕午餐。當日有頌歌，抽獎和南安索倫特扶輪社送聖誕禮籃給我們滿 70 歲的會員。21 日當天，我們在本地一間教堂舉行了聖誕早晨咖啡慶祝。當日有各樣文 化演出，也有南安索倫特扶輪社送聖誕禮籃給滿70 歲的出席者。 CAS celebrated Christmas on 20[th] and 21[st] of December 2022. On the 20[th] , we have had a nice Christmas lunch at The White Swan restaurant in Southampton. On the day, we have Christmas Carol singing, lucky draw as well as Christmas Hampers for our 70 and above years old members donated by the Southampton Solent Rotary Club. On the 21[st] , we have a Christmas Coffee Morning celebration at a local church. On the day, we have various cultural performances, Southampton Solent Rotary Club also donated Christmas Hampers for 70 and above years old participants. 2023 年1 月22 日華協在南安慶祝兔年。這是一項由社區贊助的免費活動，旨在通過表演 和工作坊與公眾分享豐富多彩的中國文化。當日在市政廳廣場舉行長達一小時的舞龍舞 獅演出，然後到Westquay 購物中心進行下一輪的慶祝活動。卅多名志願者幫助運作和管 理了整個活動。當天約有100 名表演者呈現了 22 場精彩的文化演出。我們估計至少有 1 萬位顧客觀看了舞台表演並參加了工作坊。 On 22/1/2023, CAS celebrated the Chinese Rabbit Year at Southampton. This is a communitysponsored free event that aims to share with the public the colourful and rich Chinese culture, through performances and workshops. On the day, dragon and lion dance performance took place at the Guildhall Hall Square for an hour before proceeding to the next round of celebration activities at Westquay Shopping Centre. Over 30 volunteers helped operate and manage the entire event. Approximately 100 performers presented 22 spectacular cultural shows on that day. On that day, there were lion and dragon parade performances as well as martial arts and Chinese dance shows. Inside the John Hansard Gallery, located at the other end of the Guildhall Square, a series of cultural workshops took place, including Chinese chess, lantern making, paper cutting and flute performances. We had five dragons and one lion in the parade procession weaved through the streets and alleys of the city, creating a lively and festive atmosphere with the resounding sounds of gongs and drums. 南安華人協會的目標之一是 改善南安普敦市內及周邊華人社區的生活質素；不分性别、 政治 或 宗教观点。華協的‘香港英國國民 (海外) 歡迎計劃’於2022 年2 月開始而於 2022 年6 月尾結束，並幫了不少人。 One of CAS objectives is to improve the quality of life for Chinese people living in and around the city of Southampton; without distinction of sex, political or religious opinions. The ‘Hong Kong British National (Overseas) Welcome Programme’ of CAS was launched in February 2022 and ended in June 2022, which has helped many people. 陈女士是南安普敦大学的一名学生，在 2021 年底被骗走了 3 万英镑。我们成功筹集了 1.5 万英镑的捐款幫助陈女士順利畢業。款项包括转入了華協账户的捐款，来自 GoFundMe 网 站的捐款，以及直接給陈女士的捐款。 Ms Chen was a Southampton university student scammed out of £30,000 at the end of 2021. We have managed to raise £15k to help Ms Chen to graduate successfully.
