GENERAL INFORMATION
WHAT THE BLACKPOOL CAT TRUST IS -
It is not a sanctuary and has no accommodation for animals.
It is a self-financed charitable Trust registered in England No. 1093841 on 18 September 2002 and created by an Endowment from a Trustee.
The Charity's income is the interest from its Endowment deposited in banks or building societies.
The Charity has no paid staff and all work is done by volunteers. It's Annual Report and Accounts, as required by the Charities Commission, are made up to 05 April each year and are available by appointment at our Registered Office or a bound copy will be posted upon receipt of £10 to cover expenses.
WHAT THE BLACKPOOL CAT TRUST DOES -
It's sole purpose is to make Grants usually in March at a rate fixed annually according to vets. fees upon production of a voucher signed and stamped bya practising vet. for each cat neutered or spayed and identichipped at the time.
Only registered cat sanctuaries in the Blackpool area are eligible for Grants,
When the Trust is dissolved the Trust Fund goes to the P.D.S.A. for treating cats at it's Blackpool clinics only.

LEGAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION
Status
The organisation is a charitable association founded on 18 September 2002 and a registered charity under number 1093841 U.K.
The association is constituted under terms which established the objects and powers of the Charity and is governed under constitution. Under that constitution three Trustees are elected annually.

THE TRUSTEES' REPORT
The Trustees present their report and accounts for the year to 5 April 2025.
Objectives of the Charity and principal activity
The Charity's objects are as stated below and shown in the Trust Deed.
Object of the Charity
i) The object of the Charity is to provide the income of the Trust Fund to assist registered animal charities in the Blackpool area to control the feral and domestic cat population in the area to reduce suffering and the financial strain on those charities by the payment of their veterinary bills for neutering and spaying feral and domestic cats only.
li) Upon dissolution of the Trust to apply the Trust Fund then remaining absolutely to the Peoples Dispensary for Sick Animals of Whitechapel Way Priorslee Telford Shropshire TF2 9PQ for the general treatment of cats exclusively at its clinics in Blackpool and Fylde area.
Results
The Charity was registered on 18 September 2002 and received initial funds by way of an endowment from G. A. Whittaker and donations from L. Wilkinson.
The interest earned on the funds together with dividend payments received during the year amountedto£ .

THE TRUSTEES' REPORT CONTINUED
STATEMENT OF TRUSTEES' RESPONSIBILITIES
The Trustees are required to prepare accounts at least once in each calendar year.
The Trustees are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for take reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud or irregularities.
The Trustees confirm that there are no serious incidents or other matters which should be brought to the attention of the Commission.

To the Trustees of Blackpool Cat Trust
| report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 5 April 2025 which are set out on pages6 to 11.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”). | report in respect of my examination of the charity’s financial statements carried out under section 145 of the Charities Act 2011. In carrying out my examination | have followed the Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Charities Act 2011.

NOTES TO THE ACCOUNTS
- Accounting policies The Report and the Accounts were compiled and presented by the Trustees who jointly and severally accept responsibility for any errors or omissions. The Accounts were independently examined.
2. Initial trust fands
The initial trust fund consists of an endowment ofAus$1,000,000 (Aus$1m.) made on 31 October 2003 (=£415,161.70 on that date) which is deposited to generate Unrestricted funds.
The Unrestricted funds consist of the income generated by the Restricted funds and any other income or reserves brought forward.
The banks used by this Charity no longer have Australian Dollar accounts, therefore all funds are now in Sterling.
- Surplus income The surplus income relates to the excess of all income received less all expenditure including grants made by the Charity.
