2021

## ANNUAL REPORT

Magic Moments for Autistic kids have fulfilled all their aims in 2001.

2021 has been a very difficult year. Our centre was closed until the beginning of June as we were still providing food parcels to our members. We provided more than 2.000 weekly shops for our members and to lots of the needy in Scunthorpe and surrounding villages. Our trustees and volunteers supported people from Keadby to Barton upon Humber.

Our young people were traumatised by having to adhere to lockdown so much and their mental health suffered greatly. We were lucky enough to get some funding to provide buddies who rang them every week. We bought Tablets so that the young people could use zoom to provide face to face for buddies and our young people affected by the lockdown. We were able to provide a counselling room and a councillor to help them come to terms with the different changes in their lives. We had to provide screens to keep people safe. We also bought a filing cabinet to keep files and personal information secure. Once things were a little better we arranged an outing for the young people and the buddies who had helped them through this.

At Christmas two of our buddies dressed up as Santa and with the help of trustees went round every young person in the charity, taking gifts and taking time to spend a little time interacting with all the young people. This money made a big difference to our young people. We are so grateful.

After lock down ended, we were inundated with families needing our support. We still have sessions, including a quiz which is held on a Monday night all done on zoom to make sure the young people are kept in touch.

We were lucky enough to get funding for Sail ability at Welton Waters, our young people gained bronze and one gained a gold we are hoping to get more funding to let them progress further.

This is Hope with her Gold Certificate.

Hope did Power ability she learned to drive a power boat and passed with flying colours. We are very proud of what she has achieved.

We had to up the hours our centre manager had to work due to the new workload. We are grateful to the Youth Fund for the help with our Centre managers salary.

We then provided activities whenever we could during the times we were not in lockdown. We reopened our sensory room, and we resumed our Youth club. We were still having problems persuading our young people to attend a lot of our activities. The buddy scheme was the most important funding we received in 2021.

We were able to resume our presentation nights. One for Parents one for all our young people. These were very successful and brought the charity members back together after the most stressful year in our 20 years

We had trips to Elsham Hall and Eden Camp, as we are wanting our young people to learn about the history of our country. we went to Xscape in November and had a party at Tilly’s Kitchen where Santa turned up. It snowed and was magical time for our young people. We also provided Sledging for our young people and also Glow Golf.

This was the final activity of the year.

Magic Moments would like to thank the following for their support in 2021.
