Structure, Governance and Management
The Trust is governed by a Trust Deed dated 25 June 2004 and is a Registeied Charity. Number 1093635. The Charity is
managed by the Trustees in accordance its Trust Deed. Trustees are apFointed by the members of the Rotary Club
of Hitchin Tilehouse. None ofthe Trustees receNes remuneration from the Charity.
Objectives and Activities
Our objects are as a voluntary seNices organisab-on for the public benefft in particular charitable fundraising and providing
grants in support of local, national and intemational charrty relief, V0¢￿tional, communty and youth services including
education, raising awareness and other charitaL4e purpc6es as the Club shall in duly constituted meetings decide from
time to time.
Achievements and P•rformance
This year after we changed our bank accountto Charities Aid Foundation CAF- afterthe initial transition everything is so
much smoother.
We only had one major fundraiserthat Telied on ticket sales this year-The Hitchin Wne and Food Festival, this was a
success mainly due to excellent promotion via social media channels. We managed to do several smaller fundraising
events.
Our n6w achievements this year are-
the partnershipwth our local Primary Care Ne￿r￿ Together we have aprlied for a
large grant to run a Carers Café every Friday
Youth Showcase a communty projectfor the youth of Hitchin
We also took over 2 Sleighs from a service dub that dosed. This made u5 and local
schools some funds and we hope to expand on this next year
We continue our work wth vulnerable families in the community by providing food vouchers as part ofthe Hitchin Food
Provision Team.
In addition Wor￿.ng wth Hitchin Partnershipwe have given money to hdp local families in an emergency, may need a new
fridge Of mattress. Some of these families have also received well-being help from us to do something nice as a family.
This has been very well received.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the c*anty for th6 year ended 30 June 2024.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity trustees, you are respon&tAe for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the
Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Art).
I rewrt in respect of my examination of the tharity's accounts carried out under seclÈoD 145 of the 2011 Act and un carrying
out my examination I have fdlowed all the applicai4e Directions g'ven by the Charity Commission under section 145{5){b)
of the Act.

I have comF4eted my examination. I confitm that no matters have come to my attention in conneclion wth the examination
giving me cause to believe that in any material respect
1. accounting records were not ke# in respect of the Chartty as required ty section 130 of the 2011 Act, or
2. the accounts do not accord with those records.. or
3. the accounts do not comply wth the 8PFAicatde requirements cOn￿rning the fomi and content of accounts set out in the
Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts five a 'true and fair vie
which is not a matter considered as part of an indeFendent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should
be drawn in this report in order to enatle a proFer undetstanding of the accounts to be reached.

1. Accounting policios
Basis ol a¢¢ounting
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention, except for
investments which are included at market value and the revaluation of certain fixed assets in
accordance with the Charities SORP (FRS 102) 'Accounling and Reporting by Charities: Statement of
Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the
Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January
2015)., Financial Reporting Standard 102 the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and
Republic of Ireland (FRS 1Q2). and the Chaiities Act 2011.
Rotary Club of HFtchin filehouse meets the definition of a public benefft entity under FRS 102. Assets
and liabilities are initially recognised at historical cost or transaction value unless othemise stated in
the relevant accounting policy note(s).

11. Investments
During 2022-23. the Charity invested £1,000 with the Black Squirrel credit union which provides a credit
facility for local families. Sncome of £10 was received in interest on this investment in 2023-24 (2022-23:
£10.) A further £1.000 was invested with the credit union in April 2024. The balance at 30 June 2024 was
£2,035.
