CLORE SHALOM SCHOOL PTA REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 AUGUST 2023
The committee presents its annual report for the year ended 31 August 2023.
The following have held office during the year under review:

Constitution and aims of the PTA
The PTA is governed under a constitution dated 12[th] September 2017. It was formed to advance the education of the pupils of the school and achieves those objectives by providing facilities for the school and its pupils.

Review of the Year
The PTA was able to put on a full programme of events this year. However, yet again, it was another challenging year for the PTA due to the cost-of-living crisis. Again, this presented a somewhat unique challenge of how to achieve the best results possible in fundraising for the school. Due to the continued enthusiasm of a small but dedicated group of parent volunteers and generous contributions from some core donors and the wider school community, the PTA was still able to make a significant impact. The PTA bank account started in a very healthy position and has ended in an equally positive way.
Sadly, not all events were able to be fully sponsored this year, meaning some funds held had to be used in the cost of the events.
Income
Our most profitable event was the Chanukah – Festival of Lights party where we made a profit just shy of £4,000. Our Clore Carnival was also successful and even with an increase in costs to hold the event and a reduced amount of sponsorship, the PTA was still able to make a profit of £2,300. Smaller everts including our ever popular, Movie Night and Bingo brought in a combined profit of £2,700. Our other smaller events of Fruit Pastilles Challenge and Psychic Night raised £663 and £630 respectively.
Additional funds continued to be received from payments from Amazon/Easy Fundraising/2nd hand clothes sale.
Furthermore, the school were able to obtain grants through the PTA from Jewish Childs Day and the Childwick Trust.
Expenses
On the expense side the PTA was given a grant from Jewish Childs day of £50,000 and Childwick Trust for £9,500 both of which went straight to the school in full and is being used to fund the Israeli garden project. Furthermore, the PTA helped fund £10,500 worth of learning resources for the school. There remain funds available to the school upon request.
Support for the PTA remains good and whilst the challenges presented over the year, events have been well supported by many parents, teachers/staff and pupils alike. We start this academic year again with a strong bank balance and the ability to offer significant contribution to the school from a very early stage of the year.
The PTA are excited to have a full programme of in person live events this year with the hope of raising more money than ever before to help our school and offer our children the best opportunities and experience they can.
The PTA are sad to say a goodbye to our trustees, Jo Graham and Ronit Raman and want to thank them for all their exceptionally hard work. Therefore, this AGM we will be looking for new trustees made up of existing and new volunteers for our PTA. The PTA is committed to coming up with fresh imaginative ideas to continue the push to raise vital funds for the school. However, as always, the PTA is keen for fresh ideas and new contributions from new and existing parents and hope the load will be spread further rather than by the few people who are always first to put their hands up to organise and run these events. If anybody requires any further information on how they can help they should feel free to contact the PTA or current trustees directly.
Details of the results of the activities of the Association are given in the attached accounts. The Committee considers that the Association’s affairs are satisfactory.
The PTA Committee is grateful for the help provided by parents and teachers in support of its activities throughout the year.

The Committee is responsible for ensuring safe custody of the Association’s assets and for expending funds received in accordance with the objectives of the PTA.
They are also responsible for the preparation of accounts annually in accordance with the Charities Act 1993.

1) ACCOUNTING POLICIES
The receipts and payments account and statements of assets and liabilities have been prepared following the guidance for smaller charities issued by the Charity Commission.
The receipts and payments accounts have been drawn up as a summary of the receipts and payments made during the year by the Association. Amounts are scheduled as received by the Association or as cheques are drawn.
