HAUGHTON GREEN COMMUNITY FORUM 1092101
TRUSTEES STATEMENT
1[st] JANUARY 2021 to 31[st] DECEMBER 2021
The Centre has remained open during the COVID pandemic and some health services which the Centre relied upon for rental income prior to 2020 has re-evaluated their delivery models and chosen not to offer face to face sessions. This has resulted in both Healthy Minds and Be Well cancelling service provision. During the year BPAS, Children’s Services and Baby Weigh continued to operate from the Centre and community groups such as Crafts, Tai Chi, Board Games Club and Armchair Exercise have established themselves whilst other groups such as Bucket List, Film Friday and Stroke Support have started to re-use the Centre.
August 2021 saw the Centre become the Denton Hub for The Bread And Butter Thing; a regional discounted food provision program, benefitting local families who are experiencing financial and health difficulties due to the cost of living crisis.
We continue to undertake business development, looking to secure clients that can complement the services currently on offer to generate any shortfall in income, to secure the long-term future of the Centre.
During the financial period we secured a £2000 grant from The Manchester Guardian to install a new multi zone AV system, Chromecast and projector screen, this gives the conference room hitech facilities for training, conferences, meetings and media sessions and it is designed specifically for those hard of hearing, making the room a very inclusive environment.
Funding was secured to deliver the Fuel4Fun Summer Club in conjunction with Active Tameside, Tai Chi and Armchair Exercise taster sessions were funded through Action Together/Sport England, a Forever Manchester grant of £1000 was received to help with the hire of a Shipping Container, £1000 was appointed by ASDA to purchase new tables and contributions towards Christmas parties/presents for community groups, volunteers and Bread & Butter Thing attendees thru Ambition for Ageing and The Charity Fund.
A new Trustee, Ruth Clough has been appointed. Ruth works for one of our partners Healthy Hyde. She has worked closely with our projects and offers a useful insight into local Health Service provision and in particular, Social Prescribing initiatives.
As Income for the year 1/1/21 to 31/12/21 was over £25,000. An Independent Examination of the accounts was undertaken, in accordance with Charity Commission stipulations. The examination was carried out by Mr. Michael Richter, Bank Manager at TSB Bank, Denton, Manchester.
