TRUSTEES’ ANNUAL REPORT AND ACCOUNTS Financial Year ending 31st August 2024

Charity name: Campsbourne School HSA Registered Charity Number: 1091885 Principle Address: Campsbourne School, Nightingale Lane, London, N8 7AF

Names of the Trustees registered with The Charity Commission:

Aysha Tupman Newbery (Joint Chair) Matthew Ingram (Treasurer) Ruth Stubbles (Secretary)

Other Trustee Committee Members:

Aysha Tupman Alex Lawson Diana Smith Jenny Cundill Raj Kotecha Becky Lupton Carmen Melinas Robyn Ballin Jasmine Hyman Tess Van den Oever

Type of governing document:

Campsbourne School Home and School Association (HSA) is governed by the Parentkind (formerly PTA-UK) model constitution, March 2021, adopted on 1 October 2021.

How the Charity is constituted:

Campsbourne School HSA is constituted as a charitable trust.

Charitable trust selection methods:

All parents/carers of pupils at the School are eligible to be trustees and nominations are invited annually at the Annual General Meeting. New trustees are appointed by a resolution of the existing trustees, and the appointment of a new trustee is recorded in the minutes of a trustee meeting.

Additional governance information:

The Board of trustees and extended Committee meets at least once every half term and is in regular contact via our communication groups (Classlist, email and WhatsApp). Voting on funding requests happens at Committee meetings, but smaller amounts (less than £250) can be expediated via our communication channels (Classlist, email and WhatsApp) and then ratified at the following meeting and recorded in the minutes.

The Board works closely with the School Headteacher (the Chair meeting with the Headteacher at least once per term). We welcome suggestions regarding funding or events from parents/carers of the pupils at the school at the AGM and throughout the year via communication via class reps or the Committee or via our HSA email or Classlist.

Campsbourne School HSA is a member of Parentkind (formerly PTA-UK), the leading membership organisation for parent/teacher associations https://www.parentkind.org.uk. As members, we benefit from appropriate insurance, support from their helpline and access to their website which has a host of support and guidance material for members of the association to use, including a model constitution, which has been adopted (as above).

Objectives and activities:

The object of the association (the objects) is to advance the education of pupils in the School by:

2.1 Developing effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the School

2.2 Engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which support the School and advance the education of the pupils.

This objective is achieved primarily through staging several fundraising events throughout the school year, the net proceeds of which are used to fund activities, to purchase equipment and to fund developments at the school which will be for the pupils’ benefit.

Report of the Independent Examiner 2023-2024 Accounts Balance Sheet

REPORT OF THE INDEPENDENT EXAMINER

Basis of Independent Examiner’s Report

My examination was carried out in accordance with the general directions given by The Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the Charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanation from the Trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a ‘true and fair’ view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.

Independent Examiner’s Statement

In connection with my examination, no material matters have come to my attention which gives me cause to believe that in any material respect:

I have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this Report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
