I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31/12/2021.
- Responsibilities and As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation basis of report of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have examiner's statement come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

the accounts do not accord with the accounting records

The Trustees have pleasure in presenting their report and the unaudited financial statements of the Charity for the period to 31 DECEMBER 2021.

STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
TAYBAH CULTURE, COMMUNITY AND EDUCATION CENTRE is a charitable trust governed by its trust deed executed on the 27[th] February 2002 and the trust was registered with the Charity Commission on the 29[th] of April 2002. The governing document was amended on 15 April 2021.
OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
The objectives of the organisation, as set out in its governing document are:
To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Leicester, in particular but not exclusively for the Arabic speaking community and the neighbourhood thereof (hereafter called the area of benefit) by associating together with the said inhabitants and local authorities, voluntary and other organisation in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interest of spiritual moral social cultural and other leisure time occupation with the objects of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants, and to establish or secure the establishment of a community centre and to maintain and manage the same whether alone or in co-operation with any local authority or other person or body in furtherance of those objects.
ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE
During the year, the Charity has successfully delivered a Mosque and Islamic Education facility for local public that benefited over 500 people on a weekly basis.
The Charity also delivered a multitude of Islamic Education talks for the public to increase their knowledge of Islam and to build spirituality. This benefitted over 200 people. The charity also delivered recreational activities for young people on a weekly basis with over 40 young people benefitting. In addition, the charity hosted several social meetings with local public. The trustees also provided advice and guidance to local members of the public. The trustees conducted Qurbanis in the UK.

PUBLIC BENEFIT STATEMENT
The trustees have considered the general guidance on public benefit issued by the Charity Commission and have taken due regard of that guidance. The trustees consider that they are satisfied that the charity’s activities do benefit the public as it is meeting an identifiable need. The trustees have benefitted many members of the public by allowing them to conduct their daily worship and to advance their education in Islam and build spirituality, as well as provide a facility to meet their needs.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
TAYBAH CULTURE, COMMUNITY AND EDUCATION CENTRE had secured funds from public donations and rental income totalling £78,725 which was lower than the previous year income of £81,210. These donated funds were general donations received at the Mosque premises and donations for costs for building work and related maintenance. During the year the charity had expenditure of £42,584 of which employment and service contract payments comprised of £15,600. It generated a surplus of £36,141 during the period to support its future charitable expenditure.
Apart from the charity property, the charity has unrestricted reserves (net of loans due) of £94,202 at the end of the period which has been set aside for costs associated with the building extension and refurbishment project. The reserves policy of the trustees is that they will retain all unrestricted reserves for meeting future charitable expenditure, including improvement and extension of the facility provided to the public in furtherance of the objects.
PLANS FOR FUTURE PERIODS
The trustees have plans to continue providing the charity premises for use by local charities and community groups that advance Islam and support young people in meeting their needs. All these activities will be in furtherance of the objects of the Charity.

The financial statements have been prepared under the Receipts and Payments method as the charity has an income of less than £100,000 and is not a company.

3. CONNECTED PARTY TRANSACTIONS
During the year, Aimen Alkabir (trustee) received remuneration of £9,600 under a service contract to provide Islamic services including Shariah advice, guidance and counselling. During the year Aimen Alkabir also paid rent to the charity totalling £5,000 for office use. Both of these were authorised and in the best interests of the Charity.
