This year we have (ximpleted some improvement works at Ihe dubhouse. We have refurbished and altered
the layout of rooms within the first flwr of the Annexe creating a large Pilates l Yoga studio and a treatment
room. This has further inueased aclivily and use ol the dubhouse facilities by a wider section of OLJr local

We have also revived the heating system in the Hall with a new boiler and fan convector heaters plus radiators
in the Weights rwm which also doubles up 85 a Podiatrisfs treatrnent room on Fridays. We are very fortunate
to continue to have Fabien (Victoria Park Fitnessl operating in the Hall. He is a great asset to the club and
many of our members conb'nue to benefit from his strength and conditioning training.
We still have a Taekwondo Group that use the hall ¢Jn Saturday afternoons and another group on Monday and
Wednesday aftemoons.
Mile End
The track at Mile End is managed by GLL for Tower Hamlets. The dedirated trad( entran￿ has not re-opened
since Covid and users access the track the Leisure Centre. Junior dub members and dub coaches tunning
junior sessions have free ac£ess to the track and now use a separate entrance. This is rather unsatisf8¢tory
and we hope to improve ihis arrangement with GLL. The Gym at the track is also dosed and cannot be used at
present. Whilst the management of this facility presents some difficulties, our coaches will continuing to hold
junior training Sessions through the wnter months and wll prepare for the 2022 track season.
The extent to which we manage lo involve more helpers. members and parents to undertake officials training,

rernains as big an honour as ever. l am very happy to TeF¥)rt that the second year of my tenure has been a lot
more'business as usual, than my first.
I think we all Tern8m￿r that although we wer8 able to enjoy som8 group running in 2020, th8 end of the y8ar
saw us go into L￿kdOWn number 635. It was a challenging winter on a nurnber of fronts. but the spring saw
wider society, and running specrfically, open up more and more and bring back to us the events that we are
used to and love. By the time surnmer came around. training and racing were pretty much back to nomal.
Due to knkdown and related restrictions on sport. our talenled and hardworking ladies may have had few
opportunities to train or compete for a large part of this year. compared with 'nomial' years. However, our team
spirit was undeterre(J, and whenevet it was possible. we gave il our all, whether in training or in races and

members to the team who have quickly integrated into the team and have enjoyed everything this great club
has to offer.
85th Annual Mob Match
This event did not lake place this year due to Covid. However, we are looking forward lo resuming this great
tradition on 11 January 2022.
Met League
Met League did not take place during the 2021>2021 season. However, the 2021-22 season has kicked off to a
great start, wth 29 ladies taking part in th8 fir5tfixture at Claybury in October 2021.

Still on the Xc-ish front. our more seasoned club fflembers wll remember the annual September trip to the Isle

Road season
As winter turned lo spring. and more and more commercially organised races began to resume, our ladies were

many spring marathons. but events such as Run Thr￿gh offered reli8b18 local racing opportunth85.

Spring and summer saw more and more hxal events lrickle back. After a number of postponements, by
mid-summer we all began to ￿allY believe that autumn maraihons and XC might actually be back for good. The
Big Haw, unusually held in August, was the first mass event back where we fert thal racing was back in earnest,

from Spring 2020. Our ladies raced in Brighton, Manchester. Chelmsford and of course, the home course of
London. Whether you were running or supporting, I think we all agree it Wa5 a great day and exemplified

Optimistic & excited about what is to come=
With the membership steadily growng over the last 18 months, only until now has it started to converge more
regularfy at clubhouse sessions and more recently at racing events. The sheer energy levels and power of
oomradery between racers and supporters alike, and 'speed' at which we have come together has been so
refreshing to see. and really excites me to think ab¢xrt whal we can build and achieve together in the next 12
months and beyond.

The junior Track and FieKI athletes were happy to be able lo train again at the Mile End stadium after the Covid
outbreak.
It was notiC8able throughout all trainings groups that there were fewer athletes attending th8 trainings 5855ions.
Most athletes struggled with fitness this season.
We cotnpeted in 3 different leagues this season. Youth Development leagLJes.' Lower IU131151 and Higher
IU171201 Age group and SAL IU171201. The fact that all leagues were fn"endly leagues helped athletes to get
back into racing.
Two athletes qualified for English sCh￿￿s Championships, Lyra McDonald (Junior Girfs 800ml and Michelvi
Wambal Inter Girls 20(Iml.
Both athletes did very well. qualrfied for the finals and achieved big PBS.
During the last few months Athlete numbers started to inuease again and after the end of summer breaks all
trainings groups started winter training.
For our club to stay compelibve in the Youth Development league we need to recruit more young athletes from
U11supto U15s.
For the nexi season we are also hoping to recruti more club members as qualified officials in order to help with
league meetings.
