Annual Rewt IncorporatlNJ a Dlrectors. Rewt and Accounts for the year endlng 31 December 2024
From the Chlef Executlve and Chalr of the Board of Trustees
We remain flrmly focused on preventlon and earty dlagnosis and seelng a world where all
gynaecological cancers are prevented or detected at an early stage. Women make up 51% of the
population but thelr heafth has been under prlorltlsed: Investment In preventlon has been
neglected and dlagnosis still comes far too late.
Eve have malntslned our ambftlon to accelerate progress on earty dlagnosls and preventlon by
Investlng In medlcal research and educatlon. Thls Is reflected In the fundlng of our second
research fellow who wlll focus hls programme on looking at new markers for ovarlan cancer. Thls
Is a dlsease where late diagnosSs has remained stubborn. We are really exclted to award thls
fundlng at a new centre, the world class Edinburgh University and to fund this programme In
partnershlp wlth North West Cancer Research. The power of collaboratlon to double the
Investment In our gynaecologlcal fellowshlps programme Is somethlng we are very proud of.
We were dellghted to recelve support from the Medlcal Research Councll for our fellowshlps
programme durlng the year. Investlng In the next generatlon of researchers Is a shared ambltlon.
Durlng 2024. we worked wlth the whole Eve communlty to revlew our mlsslon, vlslon and values.
We dld thls to provlde a strong foundatlon to our new strategy, whlch wlll see us reach goals
across research, awareness and publlc educatlon by 2030.
We have stepped up our pollcy work,. to evldence how those affected by gynae cancers are often
falled. to provlde expert Inslght Into what need5 to change and to outllne how change can
happen. We are contrlbutlng Inslghts to a range of natlonal and Internatlonal forums and pollcy
programmes Includlng h05tlng an event for MSPS In the Scottish Parllament In November. Th15
work has largely focused on cervlcal cancer ellmlnatlon whlch Is an ambltlous natlonal goal set for
England. We're very proud to see our work recognlsed and were honoured to recelve the award
for Internatlonal advocacy from the Internatlonal Gynaecologlcal Cancer Soclety In 2024. The
ambltlon Is always to change and Influence cllnlcal practlce and we're dellghted to see the launch
of the NHS Jewlsh BRCA testlng programme after Eve's many years of Investlng In and provlng
the Ilfe-savlng and economlc case for thls programme.
Whlle Important progress has been made across gynaecologlcal cancer awareness, our work and
the contacts to our Ask Eve nurse Informatlon seNlce tell us that they are stlll belng overlooked
and that we need to contlnue our efforts on drlvlng forward awareness on the slgns, symptoms
and rlsk factors of all five dlsease5.
We know that fundlng ploneerlng research can be transformatlonal. It can create a step change
and enable us to have hope for the future. Investlng In research that wlll uncover new ways of

Initlatfves Including the first national womb cancer audlt and a programme to look at specific
barrlers which those affected by physlcal disability face when accesslng cervlcal screenlng.
We have expanded our Ask Eve seTvlce so that the support, whlch is mlsslng for too many. Is
avallable. Our unique nurse-led informatlon Ilne has supported a 1000% Increase In contacts
about ceNlcal cancer, cervical screening and HPV. Thls resulted from the closure of a cervical
cancer charity and both reflects the fragllity In the charlty sector and the huge need for
informatlon and support. We are looklng at Innovatlve ways to further expand thls servlce and are

Annual Report Incorporatlng a Dlrectors. Report and ACCO￿ for the year endlng 31 December 2024
Our objectives are to obtain reasonable assurance about whether the financlal statemerrts as a
whole are free from material mlsstatement, whether due to fraud or error. and to Issue an auditor's
report that Includes our oplnlon. Reasonable assurance Is a hlgh level of assurance. but is not a
guarantee that an audlt conducted in accordance wlth ISAS (UK) wlll always detect a material
misstatement when It exlsts. Mlsstatements can arise from fraud or error and are considered
materlal if. individually or in aggregate, they could reasonably be expected to Influence the
economlc declslons of users taken on the basls of these financlal statements.
As part of an audlt In accordance wlth ISAS (UK) we exerclse professlonal Judgement and malntaln
professional scepticism throughoLrt the audit. We also:
Identlfy and assess the rlsks of materlal mlsststement of the financlal statements, whether
due to fraud or error, deslgn and perform audit procedures responslve to those rlsks, and
obtaln audlt evldence that Is sufflclent and approprlate to provlde a basls for our oplnlon.
The rlsk of not detectlng a materlal misstatement resultlng from fraud Is hlgher than for one

Evaluate the approprlateness of accountlng pollcles used and the reasonableness of
accountlng estlmates and related dlsclosures made by the trustees,
Conclude on the approprlateness of the trustees, use of the golng concern basls of
accountlng and, based on the audlt evldence obtalned, whether a materlal uncertalnty
exlsts related to events or condltlons that may cast slgnlflcant doubt on the charltable

exlsts, we are requlred to draw attentlon In our audltor's report to the related dlsclosures In
the flnanclal statements or, If such dlsclosures are Inadequate, to modlfy our oplnlon, Our
concluslons are based on the audlt evldence obtalned up to the date of our audltor's report.
However. future events or condltlons may cause the charltable company to cease to
contlnue as a golng concern.
Evaluate the overall presentatlon. structure and content of the flnanclal statements,
Includlng the dlsclosures, and whether the flnanclal statements represent the undertylng

The objectlves of our audlt In respect of fraud. are: to Identify and assess the risks of materlal
misstatement of the financial statements due to fraud: to obtain sufflcient appropriate audlt
evldence regardlng the assessed risks of materlal misstatement due to fraud. through designlng

Instances of fraud or suspected fraud Identlfied during the audlt. However, the prlmary
responslblllty for the preventlon and detectlon of fraud rests wlth both management and those
charged wlth governance of the charltable company.
Our approach was as follows:
We obt81ned an understsndlng of the legal and regulatory requlrements appllcable to the
charltable company and consldered that the most slgnlficant are the Companles Act 2006,
the Charltles and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 (as amended), regulatlons 6 and
8 of the Ch8rStles Accounts (Scotland) Regulatlons 2006 (as amended), the Charltles Act
2011, the Charlty SORP, and UK flnanclal reportlng standards as Issued by the Flnanclal
Reportlng Councll and UK tax leglslatlon.
We obtalned an understandlng of how the charltable company complles wlth these
requlrements by dlscussions with management and those charged wlth governance.
We assessed the rlsk of materlal m155tatement of the flnanclal ststements. Includlng the rlsk
of rnaterlal mlsstatement due to fraud and how It mlght occur, by holdlng dlscusslons wlth
management and those charged wlth governance.
We Inqulred of management and those charged wtth governance asto any known Instsnces

There are Inherent Ilmitatlons In the audlt procedures descrlbed above. We are less Ilkely to
become aware of Instances of non-compllance wlth laws and regulatlons that are not closely related
to events and transactions reflected In the flnanclal statements. Also, the risk of not detectlng a
materlal mlsstatement due to fraud Is hlgher than the rlsk of not detectlng one resulting from error,
as fraud may Involve dellberate concealment by, for example, forgery or Intentlonal
mlsrepresentatlons, or through colluslon.
