## Activities

**Objects:** The objects of the charity are, for the public benefit: To preserve and protect the physical, mental and emotional health in particular but not exclusively of people with facial and functional conditions throughout the world; By providing support to strengthen healthcare systems for the delivery of safe and effective surgery and comprehensive care through initiatives including, but not limited to, education and training of the public, medical personnel and support staff, investment in and advancement of infrastructure for healthcare systems, and campaigning to improve healthcare policy to the extent permitted by law; and To implement research to advance the understanding of conditions including but not limited to facial and functional conditions, the barriers to care, and the best methods of providing care for patients with such conditions.

**Activities:** Operation Smile is an international volunteer based medical services charity providing free reconstructive surgery and aftercare to children and young adults around the  world, primarily for cleft lips and/or palates. In the UK, we raise funds to treat facial deformities, recruit and supply medical volunteers, help train local medical teams/build infrastructure & public raise awareness.
